940 Words
You devilish betrayal Damien came home sooner than other days, he didn't want to keep his boss lawyer waiting. He met Ariel and Jayden in the sitting room, busy with their phones while waiting for the lawyer's arrival. Jayden was the only one that welcomed him, he went to his room to freshen up. Ben, their father's lawyer was ushered in the same time Damien came downstairs. The two exchanged handshake before Damien introduce Ben to Zico's children. "Let's dive into the main reason we are here" Ben said, bringing out the documents from his file bag. Ariel was busy boring her looks into Ben without baiting an eye. Jayden sat down silently on the same sofa with his sister, he was curious to unravel the mystery behind his father's will but also trust the old man to do right by them. The atmosphere was tense and odd as if everyone is holding their breath. "I will read what I have here to you all, I Zico Don, shared my properties with my right hand man, called Damien. He should be in charge of everything I own only that he should take care of my kids as his own siblings. This should be adhere to unless stated otherwise by me in the future. Yours sincerely, Zico." Ben finished reading. Ariel burst into laughter, she laughed so hard that her eyes watered. *You both are nothing but a clown. Do you think of us as a children you could brainwashed? No I'm asking you, so you expect me to believe that my father wrote what you just read Hun?" Ariel asked pointing her index finger at the two. "Sis calm down" Jayden pleaded with her, he knew that whatever Ariel is going to do or say next won't be a good one. "Calm down? Oh nice, this is it right, you both have it all planned out hun. Changed the old man's will to suit your own purpose. You are such a devilish betrayal." Ariel accused Damien. "I did no such thing" Damien answered coldly but that didn't stop Ariel. "Oh really? Tell me about it. Your not even a member of the family and doesn't deserve to be seated here like you are a damn relative. He doesn't belong here so why would father willed all his properties to you. Perhaps you are the one who misread whatever you have in there" Ariel was pacing up and down, her body shaking with rage. "Miss you really need to calm down, this is your father wish, which must be respected" Ben tried to cajole her. Ariel glared at him "how much did he offered to pay you for falsifying a dead man will, huh? Tell me! "Young lady, there's no need for all your drama, like your father has said, his best interest is to have you both catered for, which is not a problem and the least I can do for him." Damien said, leg crossed. "Then he should have f*****g willed the damn properties to us and not some random stranger. Not a damn third party that emerges out of nowhere and lay claims to what belongs to us. It all makes sense now, the other night. It was your plan right? I knew it from the start. You threatened to kill him while you point a gun to his head if he doesn't will all he owns, you are so evil" Ariel said demonstrating with her hands. "Watch your language woman" Damien warned, the vein on his head popping out. "Or else what hun? Ariel questioned. "I beg to take my leave" Ben stood up from where he sat down. Jayden shook his head, he knew this had nothing to do with the shared properties. It is pure hatred that his sis has for Damien. And that hate comes with passion. He has known his sister for fifteen years now and counting and knows what she's capable of doing. Living under the same roof with the both of them will be tough. As long as his monthly allowance keeps dropping every month then he's got no problem. "Yeah thanks man" Damien and Ben exchanged handshakes again while he walked him to the door. Ariel was the only one left in the sitting room, waiting for Damien because her father willing his inheritance to be a stranger is totally a made up s**t of story. Damien tried walking past her to get a glass of water from the kitchen, Ariel blocked him. "We have unfinished business here, you have to listen to me" Damien pulled her into his arms and kissed her, first slowly then fiercely. That's the only solution he could think of, trying to make her see reasons won't be useful, would only make her get angrier. Ariel was too shocked to react to the lips savoring hers, she pushed him away when she snapped back into reality. Damien didn't let go until he bit her lip, a deep cut. "What's that for?" Ariel asked, catching her breath and staring daggers at Damien. "For always getting pissed off at everything. You really need to keep your temper in check. That's your father's wish and we are doing just that" Damien said in a low tone that made Ariel shiver. "You are going to regret this Mr Manager, you are nothing but a cheat and a liar. And I'm not one of my dad's property so let it stick to your brain" Ariel hissed and stormed out to her room. Damien clean his lip with the tip of his finger, "let's watch how you will survive without me"
