Chapter 13

Cade was walking closer to me and I eyed him, wrapping my hands around my chest. My feet moved to the back and before I knew it, he was towering down at me, trapping me against the wall. "I-I b-being t-taking s-self d-defense c-classes" I muttered into the atmosphere between us, and then he smirked even drawing closer to me. "Really?" He muttered and I could feel my face heat up in a blush from our close proximity. When he brought his face much closer to mine almost in what looked like an attempt at a kiss, I instantly escaped out of his trap through the little space at his other hand and then he chuckled, placing his hands at both sides of his pockets and his back resting against the wall that I was earlier trapped against. His laugh echoed in the empty atmosphere, and I gritted my teeth at him as I watched him mock me. "I can only imagine what was going on in that little skull of yours" He muttered and I bit against my underlip, watching him with pure frustration on my face. The siren suddenly rang and I blinked, suddenly remembering that I have just successfully skipped my first class in my whole life. My eyes doubled in horror. What if the teacher noticed my absence? Cade rolled his eyes, coming to tap me on my shoulders. "Don't worry you'll get used to it" "I'm not getting used to skipping classes" He groaned. "You're really one innocent thing" I blinked, still in deep terrified mode, until something clicked and then I eyed him in somewhat frustration. "Who are you calling a thing?" "You" I gritted, poking him in the chest. "You're so annoying" I remarked and then he laughed. Just between everything. A tall guy in complete off-white clothes and curls that fell against his eyes so much that I began to wonder if he could even see anything walked into the area. When he spotted us, he stopped, staring at us with something like amusement on his face. "Ryan" Cade muttered with a smile as he walked down to us. He looked between cade and me with that same glint of amusement still hanging somewhere along his face. "So this was where you've been. Kyle has been looking for you all over" He muttered, and cade frowned a little in what looked like tiredness. "What does he want this time?" Ryan scratched the back of his neck, a knowing smile spreading across his lips. "I think you should ask that from him-" He muttered, his eyes falling down on me and then his smile widened. "You must be Kathy" He uttered all of a sudden, and I stared in a daze before nodding my head and casting him a weird smile. "H-how d-did you know that" I stammered as I was actually just about to introduce myself. He scuffed, a glint of mockery flickering in his eyes. "Someone wouldn't stop talking about you" He muttered about to say something more until his eyes fell on cade who was now staring at him with a hard glare. Then he chuckled again. "Well, I'm going to get some food" He muttered not saying what he wanted to say anymore, and I waved at him bidding him goodbye. "Send my love to kyle" I muttered after his disappearing figure and Ryan chuckled, muttering some words that I couldn't hear back. I smiled for a while, staring at the direction from which he had just walked out from before finally turning back to Cade. I jumped. "What?" I gritted at his stone-cold, folded arms and dry look appearance. "Send my love to kyle" He mimicked and I snorted. Shaking my head at him. "You know, I'd say you're jealous. Expect that, you're not-" I paused, rolling my eyes at him once it fell on the same jealousy glint in his eyes again. "Please, drop the act. I'm not impressed" I muttered, turning away from him and walking down towards the direction of the hallways. It was about time that I went on with my life.
