"Lionel makes up his mind that he has had enough of this baby, so he thinks he'll take a run-out on her. But before he does this he comes down here an' hangs around an' fixes up a meetin' with Leonore. He does this because he wants to hand over the poetry manuscript to Leonore. He knows it'll be safe with her, an' he tells her not to let anybody have it because he knows that if she tells Sabine about havin' it Sabine will wanta get busy an' publish it. He reckons this will cause more trouble with Varette so he wants it kept quiet. I reckon Lionel was tired of these janes. He just wanted to get away from both of 'em, an' have a little peace and quiet. Maybe he has got himself some other dame? "O.K.
