Kael “What could be the problem?” I yawned out as the loud blast of the horns woke me. The sounds were faint, but even with their low blast, it was so loud that people across the estate borders could actually hear it. Three long blasts, a pause, then two more. From the way the horn sounded, I knew it was about the arrival of the councils. My wolf, being instantly alert, snapped to attention inside my chest. Every one of my instincts screamed danger, territory breach, threat. I could feel the pack's alertness rippling through our connection with guards taking positions, warriors reaching for weapons, everyone waiting for orders. I turned my head and found Elysia already awake beside me. Her eyes were open, staring at the ceiling with an expression that was a bit hard for me to decode
