CHAPTER 13
Toby strolled through the squad room, heading directly for his mate’s office. He felt a little strange being there, since the last time he was here was to grab his brothers after they had rescued Manny and he and Nash had hardly said a word to one another. Then the time before that had been a few years ago, the day Fallon had approached him in the park and his misery began.
That last time in Nash’s office came back to him now and Toby’s stomach twisted. He had outright flirted with his mate that day, letting him know he was interested, and he thought Nash was too, with the way he was flirting back, but then suddenly Nash had shut down on him and had become cold.
