Chapter 2

Franki's POV

I was about to get my make up kit on my bag when I heard a sudden outburst.

"Whaaaaaaaaat!?"

"Ano!? No! Hindi pwede! Asa! Pwede naman siyang kumuha ng condominium eh! Bakit sa bahay ko pa!?"

Sky's cousin croaked out of nowhere and put a look of sullen on her face. By the observation of it, I know that she's disagrees with something I don't know about. I don't know what are they talking because I can't understand Tagalog and besides it's not my business though. So I was about to grab my make up again when my friend Mae spoke up.

"Ako na ang bahalang mag-explain sa kaniya, babe. Umupo ka muna dyan sa tabi ni Franki."

Then Sky politely followed what his girlfriend told him. He take a seat beside me with a heavy sigh. I looked at him and smiled for awhile and then

"Ate Mae, bakit ba kase sa bahay ko pa!? Marami namang condominium dyan na pwede niyang tirhan pansamantala eh! Baket--"

"Wait, Diana. Huminahon ka nga kahit sandali lang. Okay ganito kase yun. I can't let Franki rent a condo because hindi siya sanay mag-isa, she is dependent, she can't live alone at lalo na dito sa Pilipinas. Hindi nga niya maiintindihan ang pagtatalo nating tatlo ngayon eh. Hindi ko din siyang pwedeng dalhin sa bahay and you already know the reason behind that. Marami kami doon at baka ma suffocate ang beauty niya. We have no choice kundi ikaw nalang talaga"

"Pero pwede mo naman siyang samahan sa condo ah? Huwag ka nalang po muna umuwi sa pamilya niyo"

"Diana, kaya nga ako umuwi ng Pilipinas dahil sobrang miss ko na ang pamilya ko, tapos hindi mo man lang ako papauwiin doon?"

"Eh--"

"Sige na please, my gorgeous cousin-in-law? Six months lang naman siya dito eh"

"Anooooooo!!? Six months!?"

"Yes, and remember na mabilis lumipas ang panahon. Bukas makalawa, pagdilat mo wala kanang kasama ulit. So, sige na please. I'll make it up to you na kahit anong wish mo tutuparin ko basta dito muna titira si Franki"

I didn't continue my retouch because I am busy exchanging glances between Mae and Sky's cousin which name is Diana, I guess? There's a tension in their exchange of words which I assumed that they're arguing with each other. Oh, I feel like I am watching a live debate on a court. But what are they arguing about? Ugh! I can't relate. But what if, if the topic is me? Cause I heard Mae mentioned my name.

  "Sige Ate Mae, basta huwag niya lang akong guguluhin dito"

And after Diana said those words Mae exclaimed, showing  me her happy face. So, what happened? She win? She win in their argument? If yes, then I'm so happy for her.

   "I don't know what's happening but congratulations. It seems like you won.".  I whispered softly to Mae who is now sitting beside her boyfriend.

   "Yeah, I won. I won against Diana. By the way, she is Diana Mackey, 21 years old, Sky's ever gorgeous cousin. And as of now you're going to live with her in her house so you must behave, Franki." She reminded me. Whaat? I thought I'm going to live in Mae's house? Not on this stranger's habitat.

  "Oh! I forgot to tell you about this, Franki. You can't stay in my house for too long. Our house is like a small cabin in the middle of the forest. You already knew that I have thirteen siblings and our spaces there is too small for even them to accomodate. And I can't let you rent a condo alone cause I knew you from head to toe already. And you're life explains that, 'no man is an island'. Ikaw yata ang nagtaguyod ng ganiyang motto eh!" She added.

  Ugh. What else can I do? I'm already here. And besides, she has a point there. But what bothering to me right now is her last sentence. How can I feel attacked by something if I can't understand it? Oh universe! Can you please make the whole world an English speaker? So that nobody always left behind like me!

  "What's your last sentence means? I don't get it." I wondered.

"It's nothing, Frank. It is just a finishing touches on a speech." She answered while smiling sheepishly.

  "Ang mabuti pa! Kumain na tayo kase kanina pa ako nagugutom sa pagkukubinsi  dyan sa aking butihing pinsan." Sky blurted out of nowhere. Oh! I forgot that he's existing there between me and Mae.

"Yeah! Mabuti pa nga, let's go" Mae got up and Sky follows  her. I don't have a choice but to get up and followed them too. Because I understand Mae's two words which is let's go. Meaning, I need to go and follow her.

  I found myself following them to the dining area and there is Diana; already eating her lunch. Even though she didn't invite us to join her lunch earlier, I found it ridiculous because she's minding her own business. She doesn't have a care at me--I mean at the three of us.  She doesn't have an energy to invite for a fact that she got lose? Maybe.

  "Grabe, hindi mo man lang kami inanyayahang kumain kasama ka? Wala ka ba talagang balak pakainin ang mga bisita mo? Which is in the first place, sa mga bisita mo naman nanggaling yang kinakain mo?" Sky said as he take his seat in front of Diana. And I don't have a choice, so I took my seat beside her, and in front of me is Mae. This table is only good for four people so I don't really have a choice.  As I take glances of her while she's eating and doesn't minding Sky's remark, I realised that her looks can kill. I just hope that after this I'm still alive, still breathing.

"Diana, may narinig ka ba? Huwag ka ngang magbingi-bingian dyan. You look like a rude brat there"  Sky said again to Diana while eating his food.

Yeah, she's really look like a rude brat there because she's not answering  your question.

  "Kanina ko pa kayong tinatawag para kumain na, kaya lang parang may unfinished meeting pa kayo, so I eat first dahil gutom na gutom na ako. And I can't wait, okay?"

  By the sound of it, I guess that she's explaining something to Sky. So...... I'm just going to based my guess here from the tone of their voice all day? Ugh. My head is going to explode any moment from now because of their Tagalog. I'm going to be sick. I can't relate. I need a translator. What if I'm going to hire someone? Or just suffer the consequences of being here?
