I couldn't look Lyra in the face and lie to her. I was hiding too many things from her already as it was. I wasn't ready to add lying about what transpired between her brother and me to the list.
‘Since you are not going to tell me anything, then let's go home,’ Lyra said sounding offended.
‘I am sorry Lyra. There is no way I will tell you about what transpired between your brother and me without bringing up some really touchy topics. Please just give me time I will tell you everything,’ I pleaded with her.
‘Okay. I trust you on that,’ she said, then smiled at me. ‘Shall we go?’
