Chapter 30 – The Madness Within
[Sebastian’s POV]
Getting back to the encampment once we cleared the pack lands proved more difficult than I anticipated. The moment my sister left to find the pup’s family, Raife- my wolf spirit and I felt the madness starting to creep back in. Knowing this, it took more effort to maintain my focus. The elderly man on my back had been quiet for so long, I had assumed he was asleep. That was why when he chose to speak, it nearly startled me out of my skin.
“Are we nearly there young man? These old bones don’t do well without some occasional movement.” I looked around, making sure we weren’t too far off from camp. Now would be a good time to stop anyway. We were right near the stream. It would be good to get some of them water.
