Chapter 2 : GOODBYE

I woke up by the sound of metals being hit by something. I really wanted to sleep more because I felt really tired but this uncomfortable bed is making me want to get out from there.

I sat down closed eyes, still processing what was happening until realization hit me hard! I am not in our house anymore! That explains the uncomfortable bed and noises. I am in a cell! In the court dungeon! Dang it! Today is the day I will be transferred to the island. Erebus.

I opened my eyes only to see Kavans shouting at me while opening the cell.

"Wake up princess! Your not your castle anymore! GET UP!" They forced me to stand up and pull me out of the cell.

The Kavans held both my arms, two were walking in front of me and two guards at the back. We are walking out of the dungeon. I saw the faces of those inmates I saw last night. Why am I the only one going out?

Confusion is visible in my face until I saw my father standing outside the court, beside a car which I guess would take me to the gate that would teleport me to the island. I wanted to be scared but I want my father to think that I am fine.

When we reached the car, the Kavans let go of me and I immediately hug my Papa trying my best to not let a single tear fall down my cheeks.

"You look really dirty sweetheart! What happened?" Papa asked in a very concerned tone. I didn't know how to answer Papa's question without making him worry so I just smiled at him.

"I'm really sorry sweetheart! I will make a way to get you out of that horrible place. I promise!"

"No Pa! Please don't! Don't do anything that would put you in danger. I'm going to be fine Pa. Don't worry about me. I'm okay. I promise! Please live a good life Pa. For me!" I saw my father's eyes turn sad hearing those words from me. But I know Papa, he would still do something to get me out. I have to stop him. I know I should or he would get in trouble again.

The Kavan motioned us to get inside the car. Papa and I sit beside each other while the Kavans surround us. Two sitting at the back, one is driving the car, the other one sits on the passenger seat and the remaining two sit beside me and Papa. It is like they're making sure we won't escape by surrounding us making no blind spot.

All of us were silent the whole three hours drive to the south where the portal is located. That is the only way to go to Erebus. There is no other way to enter Elettra too aside from that portal. We only know two places anyway. This huge island is called Elletra where we live and a small island is called Erebus, it is where the prisoners stay for the rest of their life.

We arrived in the South part of Elletra where you can see the portal. Father and I held hands when we went out of the car. I know, we both are trying our best to be strong for each other.

The place looks like a desert with a portal in the middle. I can't see the exact image of the portal because it's in the center of the mini desert and you need to walk to it so you could see it better.

After a couple of minutes of walking, we finally reached the portal. The portal is like a round platform made of glass. As I heard it glows when it is teleporting someone. The round platform can fit almost 10 people I think. Standing there by myself must feel really lonely and saddening. Thinking you will face everything on whatever's waiting on Erebus alone.

The platform is surrounded by rectangular laser beams maybe to prevent people nearby from using it.

I saw one of the Kavans walked near the laser beams, take out a key, and place it in a small keyhole found in the ground. I didn't realize it was there. They must be hiding it.

When the Kavan twisted the key, the laser beams disappeared.

The Kavans then looked at me, probably telling me that I should go. I sighed and faced my father. I gave him the tightest hug I can give and whispered I love you. This will be the last time I will see my father, the last time to hug and the last time to tell him how much I love him.

Father did and said the same thing. Tears did not fall from our eyes. I know my father still has not accepted the situation but he is trying really hard to be strong for me so that I won't be scared.

I gave my Papa one last reminder.

"I love you, Papa, so much! Always remember that. Promise me Pa, that you will not do anything reckless. We don't know what will happen. We don't have any idea what it's like on the island. Erebus is a scary place Pa, we both know that. Please don't do anything to save me. If they find out, they could hurt me in that place. Please Pa! DON'T SAVE ME!"

I tried playing with words to make Papa agree to not do anything. I don't want him to end up getting hurt.

"Why are you like this? You're making it really hard for me. Okay, sweetheart and I love you too, so much! I promise I won't do anything stupid. But do promise me also that you wouldn't be reckless in there too. Just live a quiet life and stay away from danger. Please, sweetheart?" I nodded and Papa kissed me on my forehead.

The Kavans held my hand guiding me to the portal. I stepped on the round platform and waited until I arrive on the island named Erebus. I saw the portal glowing and I felt the energy coming from the portal. It's starting!

Before I totally get teleported I heard my Papa shout. I am looking directly at his eyes.

"I also promise to find legal actions to take you out of that place sweetheart. WAIT FOR ME!"

I smiled and nodded at my father's words to make him feel light. But I did not hope for it. I will never get out of that place, the moment I arrive. The legal action that Papa is saying...
