Chapter 4: CELL 8

I looked at the sky and saw darkness, that was the only time I saw the moon in Erebus, covering the bright sun.

Erebus is part of Elletra so I think they share the same sun, but the issue with the moon is different.

Back in Elletra, the sun is always in the middle of the sky, it never moved. But since the moon appears in front of the sun from hour 18 until hour 6 the next day, we had night and day.

It seems like that is not the case in Erebus, the moon covers the sun every time although the sun is still in the middle. The moon in Erebus never disappears unlike in Elletra that leaves Erebus with darkness 24 hours a day. But the street lights are helpful in bringing light outside the cells.

I just arrived today but there are so many changes already.

Trying to understand the changes, I headed to the door of my cell. The pathway to the cell took about 10 steps and there were about 3 doorsteps to the door.

I tried to open the door slowly even though the Kavan told me that my cellmate is working. I twisted the knob slowly then pushed the door. I stick my head in the house and a nice living room came into my vision. I also saw a door right across the entrance. I let my body enter the whole cell and closed the door behind me.

The living room is at the center of the house. It has one long sofa, two single sofas, a coffee table and there is also this shoe rack beside the main door.

I removed my shoes leaving me with bare feet, I wanted to look at the house but I'm afraid to dirty the floor so I took my shoes off and put them in the shoe rack beside the door.

I am thinking of staying on the couch and waiting for my cellmate but since it is hours from now, I decided to give myself a tour in the cell. I hope my cellmate won't mind.

I felt the cold floor as I make my way on the right side of the house. It was a kitchen. There's a stove above the countertop with drawers under, sink, refrigerator, and a small dining table good for four people.

I opened the refrigerator and saw some energy drinks, water, a cake, and some sweets. It's not bad for a prisoner, I thought.

The cell looked really clean, I guess my cellmate is a girl, I wonder what's her work. Maybe a cook?

I went to the other side of the cell, it has a door which I guess is our room. I felt excited about that thought.

I opened the door and as what I was thinking, it was the room, what else could it be.

The room had 2 large beds placed next to each other but still had a space between them. One bed has an all-black theme and the other has an all dark blue theme. There are also baskets on the left side of the room, I peek at it and see clothes, I think it's for dirty clothes. Do we wash our own clothes? Where?

I wonder which one I will use. I prefer the blue one. In the right part of the room, I saw a door and there were 2 large cabinets on the left side which I think are the closets and it also comes in black and dark blue color.

I made my way to the door on the right side and opened it, as expected it was the bathroom. The bathroom is in white motif. I saw a sink with a mirror in front, besides the sink is a countertop with four drawers underneath, two in the black handle and two in the blue handle, there were spaces underneath the drawers which I did not make time to see and on the wall, there is a towel rack, at the end of the bathroom is a shower room with sliding doors, the doors are kind of a thick gray glass sliding door. It is very beautiful, so much for a prisoner.

I went back outside the room and headed to the living room. I looked for the comfort room because I didn't see a toilet bowl a while ago. It must be in the room right across the entrance.

I confirmed it when I opened the last room. In there was a toilet bowl, a bidet, and some towels.

I felt tired after all that so I sat on the long sofa.

My first day in Erebus is not that bad, the changes are shocking especially with the moon and the job but I'm trying

g my best to absorb every detail. It's not that I have a choice, I will live here for the rest of my life so I have a lot of time coping up.

Feeling really tired, I lay down on the long sofa and closed my eyes. I decided to take a nap while waiting for my cellmate.
