After they announced the top surfers and confirmed the times for the next day, I got the hell out of there. I had nothing to say to any of them, and I was done. I didn’t even know if I was going to show up for day two. I didn’t see the point. I knew I was done, so why bother? I took a shower at my hotel and washed the sand and salt water off my body.
