An hour later, I’d learned Ginny didn’t like it when people didn’t listen to exactly what she said, and she liked being right.
When Kapena realized she was giving me tips, he jumped in and started offering his own advice. As the surf instructor for Opposites Attract, I knew he was good, but Ginny was a different kind of surfer than Kapena. Where Kapena played it safe, Ginny went all in. Kapena wanted me to hold back on some waves, but she yelled until I paddled hard and caught the wave.
Yeah, I ended up on my a*s half the time, but it was pretty damn awesome to try.
