Chapter Eight Ginny I refused to feel guilty. I had no reason to. He said it was okay, and I wasn’t going to get all emotional about it. I couldn’t. Then I looked in his eyes. Regret. Disappointment. That one I was definitely familiar with. A lifetime of disappointing my dad made each moment routine instead of heartbreaking like it used to be. “I shouldn’t have agreed to this,” my dad said with a sigh. “We can’t go back on it now,” I argued. I wouldn’t do that to Kiki. “She’ll understand.” I shook my head, the purple tips of my hair catching my dad’s attention. Another thing we fought about constantly. I couldn’t understand why he wanted me around when all we did was fight. “We told her she could have the wedding here.” “It’s too much on you. You shouldn’t have to take this on.”
