Suddenly feeling shy over the way she blurted out her feelings , Christy picked up her cheese burger to eat again.
Adrian stared at her. He couldn't believe that there was someone who liked him for being him .
Christy didn't know yet that she was a soon-to-be CEO of a big company but the fact that she liked him now without knowing goes as far as saying that she would stay by his side when she would know.
He smiled. It was refreshing. Really refreshing when someone you like ,likes you back .
"What are you staring at ?" Christy asked shyly.
Adrian wiped her mouth " Are you a baby ? there's cheese all over your face "
Embarrassed, Christy raised her hands to wipe her mouth but Adrian stopped her " let me "
He bent down close to her and kissed her.
Christy was surprised so she didn't react for a while but then she later gave in and kissed him back.
She wrapped her hands around his neck and he drew her closer to him by the waist.
Both were so into the kiss that neither wanted to let go , but a loud sound broke them off.
Startled, they both refrained from eachother and looked around them for the source of the sound.
It was Christy's phone. She picked it up .
"Christy , where are you ?" Anna asked over the phone.
"Me ?" Christy looked around her " I'm about to leave work, why ?"
"Hurry up. I'm bored "
"Okay, I'll be home soon. Bye "
The line went beep.
Christy turned to face Adrian " it was my sister. I have to be going home "
"I'll take you "
They both got into the car and he drove off.
When they reached her place , Christy unbuckled her seat belt " thank you. See you tomorrow "
"Yeah"
Christy was about to open the door when Adrian held onto her and pulled her in for a quick kiss .
"You can go now"
Christy blushed as she climbed down from the car " go "
"I'll go when I see you go in first"
Christy shook her head " no, you go first"
Adrian smiled "you go in first "
A small hand grabbed Christy "we'll go in then " Anna said"bye "
Anna dragged Christy inside.
"So that's your definition of work ?"
Christy cleared her throat"what were you doing outside?"
"I knew something was fishy . You always leave work on time so I decided to wait outside for you and I'm glad I did "
Christy looked around " Where's grandma and grandpa ?"
She'd expected to see them in the living room.
"They are asleep and don't think of changing the subject, young lady "Anna moved closer to Christy" hey , I like 'brother-in-law' too but isn't this too fast ?"
Christy slightly pushed Anna aside and walked towards her room"I'm tired. Let's talk about this later "
Anna followed suite " he doesn't even have a job. Why? Isn't that weird?"
" I don't care!"Christy blurted out ", he likes me for me and so do I and right now I just want to sleep so please, give me some space , huh? "
Anna nodded her head "I wasn't really interested like that. I was just bored . You didn't have to shout at me "
Anna left the room and Christy sighed as she rummaged her hands through her hair .
Nothing was easy . Why was nothing easy?
The following morning when Anna entered the room Christy walked up to her to apologize.
Anna hadn't slept in their room that night. She hated whenever she was shouted upon. It reminded her of the car crash when they were little.
Anna wasn't fully awake then but she could here here parents shouting that day .
"Anna, about yesterday-"
"I'm sorry "
Christy was taken aback" what ?"
"I'm really sorry. You are happy and that's all that should matter. "
Christy smiled and patted her head " when did you become such a big girl ?"
Anna pushed her hand away " I don't like when you pat my head "
Christy hugged her " I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have shouted at you "
Grandma and Grandpa came downstairs and saw them " what is this? Is there an happy occasion?"
Christy moved to meet her grandma and hug her " of course. You are healthy now "
" No, Christy has a boyfriend now " Anna said
" Hey !"Christy shouted and pursued Anna but Anna had ran inside their room and locked the door .
Christy turned around to meet her grandparents and chuckled awkwardly" you know how Anna is always spouting out nonsense. Don't take anything she says seriously. She should learn when to stop talking. I mean like seriously, a boyfriend? Me ? I wish . "
"Christy"her grandma called smiling.
"Yes? "
"Breathe"
"Okay " she looked away from her grandparents .
This was so awkward.
Meanwhile dancing downstairs, Adrian couldn't stop smiling as he seated on the dining table ready for breakfast.
Adrian never woke up early and he was almost never present for breakfast.
This was weird.
"What do you think happened?" Bridget whispered to Miguel as they watched Adrian .
"I don't know " Miguel whispered back .
Bridget walked towards the dining table and took a seat beside Adrian " I would like to meet her "
Adrian immediately stopped smiling " who ?"
" The one who keeps on putting a smile on your face" Bridget handed him a card " That's an invitation to Carl and I wedding. Make sure to give her"
Adrian looked at Bridget then at the card then took it " thank you "
Bridget smiled" does mother approve of her ? That's the most important thing you know "
"Not yet but she invited her over to lunch "
"And ?"
"She turned it down"
Bridget looked shocked " why ?"
"We weren't that close then so I think that's why. I'll have to remind her again about it "
Bridget nodded her head and stood up to leave .
"Are you leaving already?"Adrian asked
"Yes . I have a fitting to attend too. Eat with Miguel if you are bored " Bridget headed out and got into her car.
She brought out her phone and called Gina .
"Hello?"
"Gina, it's me. Can you push back my fitting?"
"Is something the matter ?"
"No, I just have to stop somewhere briefly"
" Okay . Will do "
The line went beep and Bridget drove off heading towards the convenience store.
