Chapter 13

Asteria Celeste Averix Levington POV When I woke up, I took a shower and went downstairs. I have eaten my breakfast. I went up and took my suitcase. "Good bye, Bestie," I said goodbye to Cyra. "I hope you'll find happiness when you return home with Kian. Farewell, my dear friend," she said, kissing me on the cheek. Before starting my car, I released a sigh. As I started the engine, I embarked on the road toward a destination where happiness was uncertain. There's a chance I'll find happiness seeing my beloved wife. Conversely, there's the possibility I won't, as Kian might relish my absence, feeling free to pursue her desires unchecked. As I parked my car at the front gate and stepped inside, I halted before the front door. Just as I reached for the handle, it swung open unexpectedly. Standing before me was Kian, her expression one of shock and wordlessness. "Ah, Kian, I don't think—" I started to say, but my words were interrupted as she embraced me tightly, her hands resting gently on both of my cheeks. "I thought you wouldn't come back," she whispered, planting a tender kiss on my forehead. "Huh?" "I thought you were really going to leave me," she murmured, pressing a soft kiss to my left cheek. "I thought you were truly fed up with me," she admitted, gently kissing my right cheek. "I missed you," I exclaimed, my eyes widening as she tenderly kissed me on the lips. "Do you miss me?" I inquired nervously as she released the kiss. "I miss you so much," she nodded emphatically. "Let's go inside first," she said, guiding me in and settling me down on the sofa. Standing beside me, she remained attentive. "How are you?" she inquired, her gaze fixed directly on mine. "It's okay," I replied, still feeling puzzled about Kian's sudden kindness and concern towards me. "Don't you have something to tell me?" she asked, her expression serious as she looked directly at me. I swallowed. What should I say to her? "Is there?" She asked again, causing me to worry. "Oh, I'm pregnant," I immediately covered my mouth, feeling my teeth chattering uncontrollably. "I thought you had no intention of telling me that," I said with a frown, expressing my surprise. "So it means, you already know?" I asked, raising my eyebrows inquisitively. "Yes," she replied curtly, with a hint of a smile on her face, indicating her satisfaction. "I would like to ask you something," I said, feeling shy. "Go ahead, tell me," she encouraged. "Did you truly miss me?" "Estria, you will discover my true answer if you join me later," I simply nodding in acknowledgment. "By the way, Esteria, I need to leave because I still have work to do. I want you to be ready when I arrive," she said as she exited the door. Feeling a bit disappointed, I had just arrived, and she was already leaving. I spent my time fiddling with clothes, deciding what to wear later. First, a violet dress with sequins. Nope. Second, a black dress with a plain design. It's as if I can sympathize with the dead. Third, a yellow dress with Tweety Bird. It's like I'm going to a children's party. Looking here, looking there, trying to find the perfect outfit. Finally, I made a choice. I went to the bathroom and took a shower. Then I let my hair dry naturally. I put on the dress and tended to my face. It's a dirty white color, simple yet elegant, and with sleeves, so I won't get cold. I applied light makeup, nothing too flashy. For my hair, I curled it underneath and let it fall naturally. I adorned my wrist with the bracelet Lucian, my sister, gave me. Finally, I selected shoes that matched the color of my dress. I descended the stairs. It's four o'clock in the afternoon, and Kian will arrive at four-twenty. There are still twenty minutes left. Am I too excited? The ready 'no' is good. I was engrossed in reading "Giving Up My Virginity" on w*****d when someone snatched my cell phone away. "What's happening in the thrilling part?" I grumbled, annoyed at being interrupted. "Estria," she called out. "We're leaving," she said, winking at me. Is it really her? I was about to open the door of Kian's car when she suddenly grabbed my hand to stop me. "I am the one will open it," she said, opening the door and gesturing for me to get in. Kian opened the car door for me? Unbelievable. It wasn't really her. "Where are we going?" I asked as we walked slowly towards the unknown place. "Secret" We arrived at a stunning garden, though I had no idea where we were. Kian blindfolded me, adding an element of mystery to the experience. "What are you doing?" I asked, feeling both curious and apprehensive. "Shhh, just trust me," she whispered, gently holding my hand and leading me somewhere. I sensed that Kian and I were already walking. Eventually, we stopped, and she removed my blindfold. "It's beautiful," I exclaimed in amazement. I marveled at the sight of a table placed in the middle of the garden, adorned with a design of rose petals. It was incredibly romantic and enchanting to behold. "Sit down," she said, pulling out the chair for me and guiding me to sit. We started with eating first, then followed by enjoying some drinks for a while. "Ask me the question you asked earlier," she said, looking at me with her soft eyes. "Do you truly miss me?" I asked once more. She nodded in response. "Yes," she replied softly, reaching out to hold my hand. "Estria, if only you knew that I can't sleep well because you're not coming home," she whispered, gently kissing my hand. "I hope you believe me. I know I've been bad to you. I haven't appreciated you enough, but I hope you believe what I say," she said earnestly. Then, we stood up and danced together. "No one ever saw me like you do, all the things that I could add up to," she sang softly, placing her hand on my waist. "I never knew just what a smile was worth." "But your eyes say everything, without a single word," I placing my hand gently on her neck. "Cause there is something in the way you look at me," We both stared deeply into each other's eyes. "It's as if my heart knows you're the missing piece," she whispered, her face drawing closer and closer to mine. "You make me believe that there's nothing in this world I can't see," she said softly, as our foreheads touched. "I never know what you see," She confessed, feeling a sense of wonder and vulnerability in her presence. "What do you want me to believe?" I inquired, searching for clarity in her gaze. "I love you, Estria. I love you," she declared earnestly, her words filled with sincerity and emotion. "But there's something in the way you look at me," she whispered as the song ended. Our lips collided, and we kissed passionately, lost in the moment of undeniable connection. Do I truly need to believe the magical words she uttered, or should I simply refrain from doing so and avoid expecting anything more? What exactly should I put my faith in?
