Kate Brillantes POV I receive Kian's number. "Hello" she answered briskly. "Kian, help me. Help me," my voice pleaded as I begged her. I heard her sigh on the other end of the line. "What happened?" she asked, her patience wear thin. "Kian, my stomach hurts. I can't stand up. There's no one else to help me," I sniffed, trying to make her believe I was truly crying. "Wait for me," I heard her hurry on the other end. It seemed that she was genuinely affected by my acting. Sorry, Kian and Asteria, but I need to do this if I'm not the one to upset Sorin. Maybe my mom will be angry, and I can't handle that. I just pretended my stomach hurt and acted like I was crying. I didn't even carry anything in my womb. I am truly a sinner, especially with the Levington couple. Even if I don't want to do it, I still have to. Why couldn't Sorin be a girl? Then I could confess face-to-face with the person I love and tell the truth. She's never hurt me like this. When I heard footsteps outside, I immediately took my place on the floor. I sat there and began pretending. The door opened, and Kian was standing there, looking exhausted. "K-Kian," I managed to utter before succumbing to the intense pain. I closed my eyes and fainted. Moments later, she picked me up. "Kate, wake up!" There was a hint of panic in her voice as she walked briskly, almost running. Sorin Alvarez POV "Hi, Doc," I greeted you, acknowledging your proximity to a doctor. I understand the importance of having many connections. "Oh, you're Sorin. Do you need anything?" she asked. I simply smiled, my thoughts racing. "Actually, yes. I hope you can provide it," I replied. "Anything for you, Sorin," she smiled. This is how I operate—I help a lot, and this is how I charge them. Sorry, Asteria, but this is all for you. You are mine and mine alone. This is also for our future relationship. "Max has brought a patient here. Her name is Kate Brillantes. I want you to release the child, okay, even though she's not really pregnant," I said, noticing my interlocutor frown. "I might lose my license if I do that," she said fearfully, her eyes filled with dread. "Can't you give it to me, Doc?" I asked, feeling remorseful. A smile played on my lips. "I'll try my best," she said before leaving. Naturally, she will give it to me. I just smirked. "You shouldn't have fought me, Kian. I have many people who can be tools. Because Asteria is only mine." Asteria Celeste Averix Levington POV Kian is quite slick. Do I seem like a prisoner here? It's frustrating! Should I really be confined? Why did he put a padlock on the door that only she can open? Is she afraid that I'll take advantage of the opportunity to snoop around when she's gone? She was genuinely traumatized. Well, at least I won't go hungry since there's a personal refrigerator. I won't be bored either since there are magazines, television, and computers. But seriously, I can't even leave. I empathize with her. I can only think of one reason why she locked me in our room: she didn't want me to run away again. I stood in front of the life-size mirror and gently caressed my tummy. "Baby, we'll have a check-up tomorrow huh?" "When you grow up baby, don't ever make mommy cry" Not like your Mommydy. "love you baby;" I smiled and looked at my stomach. That's what I did to pass the time. Kian Calen Levington POV "Miss Levington" taking the Doctor's attention to me. "How is Kate?" "Based on the result, she's okay, you don't have anything to worry about," she said and smiled at me. I nodded. "What about the baby?" I asked again. Doc smiled bitterly. "The child's attachment is weak . Therefore, I hope the pregnant woman will be watched carefully. Like today, it's a good thing you took her to the hospital right away. If you don't take her immediately, the child might be dead. My only advice to you, Miss Levington, is don't neglect Kate because her pregnancy is delicate," I just nodded. I can't leave Kate alone but I have to go home. Maybe Esteria is getting impatient because she can't go out. She's also pregnant and maybe what else will happen to her. Maybe my wife misses me. I really need to go home. "Ah nurse can you watch over Kate for a moment?" the nurse nodded. I went to the parking lot and got into my car. I turned it on and went home. When I entered the house, I ran up the stairs. I entered the room and found Esteria watching television. "Oh why did you go home?" I frowned at her question. Does she not want me to go home? I still thought he missed me. "I thought you wouldn't come home" I got what he meant. It's really time and she waited for a really long time. "You're right here" I hugged her back. "Estria, I love you" I promised softly. I'm not I'll get tired of telling her that. I kissed the top of her head. "Kian, why do you have to keep me locked up here?" Estria said calmly but with a mixture of irritation. She must be really bored here especially when she's just one. "Estria, I'm just making sure. Maybe when I get home you won't be there anymore" It's scary,' she was silent at what I said. She just stared into my eyes and didn't say a word. We spent a few minutes just like that. She smiled and suddenly softened. Mood swings. "I love you." she said softly and kissed me. Then she kissed my neck. She sucked it and put a mark. "Maybe I won't be able to stop it" I said while looking up because of what she was doing. I felt her laugh. "How is that ? You have to be patient" she said teasingly and continued what she was doing. I just chose and laughed because of her. The wife is also really lame sometimes Kate Brillantes POV "How did kian believe in you?" Sorin asked me frantically. "So basic. So easy" i replied with a smile. Proud of what i have done. "Connection?" I nodded. It's remarkable how i managed to make Kian believe I was truly pregnant. All I did was give my stomach a pat to create the illusion. Luckily, Kian didn't catch on when she lifted me, perhaps due to panic. "I need to go," Sorin bid goodbye. I simply nodded. Before she could leave, she turned around once more. "Just ensure you perform your duties proficiently," she remarked, her silence broken as numerous plans swirled around in her mind. She was indeed a highly intelligent individual, adept at balancing work and other activities. I was left alone in the hospital, I couldn't help but wonder if Yusei would visit me. The hope lingered, despite the uncertainty. My thoughts turned to the urgency of severing the relationship between Kian and Asteria, so that Yusei and I could pursue our love. Yet, there was also the fear of getting caught, and the possibility of Yusei ending up with Cyra instead. I might get hungry again. I'm really demanding, sorry Asteria, but I just have to do it. I expressed, feeling a mix of hunger and remorse. Asteria Celeste Averix Levington POV As she stood up, I wrapped my arms around Kian in a hug, noticing she held her cell phone in her hand. "Estria, there's an emergency at the company," she announced hastily, her tone laced with panic as she swiftly concealed her cell phone. It was evident she didn't want me to see the message or whatever was on it. I simply nodded in understanding. She left and I just stared there. There is something wrong. Is Kian lying to me? I feel that she went to someone else and not to the company. Maybe Kate's. Because she was hospitalized, right? Yes, I know that he was hospitalized because Sorin told me that through text. I don't even know why he knows Kate and why she suddenly brought her into our conversation. "So that girl is more important than me, even though I'm pregnant. What if something bad happens to me? Who will help me?" I pondered anxiously as I reflected on Kian's urgent departure. Despite my concerns, I noted that the door wasn't locked, perhaps overlooked in the rush. Descending the stairs, I made my way to the living room. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Opening it, I was met with Sorin's gaze. "What are you doing here, Sorin?" I asked, taken aback by her unexpected arrival. "How are you Asteria?" She asked me. "It's okay. Um, would you like to come in?" I offered uncertainly, not entirely sure if I had extended the invitation. With Kian absent, Sorin wouldn't know either way. We both stepped into the living room. "Would you like coffee, juice, or something else?" I inquired, eager to offer Sorin a refreshment. "You,'" she whispered softly, but I didn't catch it, prompting me to turn to her with a puzzled frown. "Don't worry about it," I smiled reassuringly at her. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my stomach, causing me to clutch it tightly. The pain intensified, and I let out a small scream. "Asteria, are you okay?" Sorin's concern was evident as she noticed my discomfort. Hurriedly, she stood up and approached me. "Oh." I moaned in response to the pain, feeling its intensity increase. "Please, help me," I pleaded with Sorin, overcome by the pain. Without hesitation, she swiftly lifted me up and carried me to her car, her movements hurried and fraught with confusion. "Asteria, hold on," Sorin reassured me, gripping my hand tightly for support. As soon as we reached the nearby hospital, medical staff rushed to my aid, swiftly transferring me onto a stretcher for immediate attention. "Hey, Asteria," I heard Sorin's voice before drifting off to sleep. When I woke up, I found myself still in her presence. "Asteria," Sorin's voice greeted me as I regained consciousness, confirming her continued presence by my side. "Sorin, what happened?" I asked anxiously, my mind racing with concern, fearing that something might be wrong with my baby. "Asteria, it's natural to experience stomach aches during pregnancy. That's why the baby is okay. But try not to stress," Sorin reassured me, moving closer and gently taking hold of my hand, offering words of comfort and encouragement. "Sorin," I called out, seeking her attention. "Hmm?" She looked at me. "Thank you," I expressed my gratitude, offering Sorin a sweet smile in return. "For what?" "Thank you that you were there for me and didn't leave my side. Without you, I might have been alone, dealing with this on my own," I expressed my heartfelt appreciation to Sorin, acknowledging the comfort and support she provided during a difficult time. "It's okay, Asteria. I'm glad I arrived on time. I couldn't bear to see you in distress. You and your child are important to me," Sorin said calmly, her words carrying a weight of significance that I chose to ignore as I continued to express my gratitude towards her. "Go ahead and rest first. You need it," I suggested, watching as Sorin rested her head on the bed where I lay. It was evident that she was also tired. I felt grateful that Sorin was there for me when my stomach hurt. Without her, I wouldn't know what to do. My panic would only escalate. Thankfully, Sorin made time for me, unlike Kian, whose mind was preoccupied with Kate. As I gently combed Sorin's hair with my fingers, a sense of comfort washed over me, knowing that she was by my side. "Sorin, thank you so much," I expressed my gratitude once again, admiring her beauty and feeling overwhelmed by my thoughts. I found myself hoping that Sorin would become my wife, considering how she always made time for me and supported me through every problem. However, I knew deep down that it wasn't meant to be. Despite everything, my love for Kian remains unchanged. Perhaps our arranged marriage was destined to be, as it brought us together and led to the creation of a precious blessing that we will both cherish and love more than ourselves.
