Asteria Celeste Averix Levington POV
She left a while ago, but she still hasn't returned. Where did she go? Why is she taking so long? She knows I want her by my side; I told her that. Even though I'm happy, someone important just left.
I sat there, contemplating what food I wanted. Something yellow or green, fresh to the eyes. Then it hit me—I wanted pineapple! I suddenly craved it. But how and where do I get pineapple? I can't leave here.
Kian isn't here either, so I can't order anything. Tears welled up in my eyes. I really crave pineapple. Just imagining its taste brings me joy.
The door opened just as I was wiping my tears. She immediately came to me.
"Why did my beautiful wife cry?" She asked, rubbing my back to calm me down. But I couldn't stop crying.
"I want some..." I hiccupped and sobbed.
"Tell me," she urged, caressing my face.
"What does my wife want?" She kissed my cheeks, probably tasting the saltiness of my tears.
"I-I want pineapple," I said between sobs.
"Do you really want pineapple? I'll buy you one as long as you stop crying."
"Really?" I asked happily.
"Yes, Wifey," she replied. Yes, my hubby is really sweet.
"From the market, hubby. I don't want it from the mall, just from the market itself," I insisted. Her reaction was indescribable.
"Why?" she asked.
"Are you serious?" She seemed in disbelief. I nodded. I'm serious.
"Okay, I'll buy it first. Don't leave here, Wifey," she instructed. I eagerly agreed, blowing her a kiss as she left.
"Really?" I happily asked. Thank you, and she nodded.
"I'll always buy you pineapple so you can suddenly kiss me," she said, smirking. She wanted to reciprocate what I did earlier. I pinched her lightly, making her flinch. She walked to the door and turned back to me.
"Don't leave there," she said authoritatively. Was she afraid it might happen again suddenly? I quickly nodded. Of course, because I'm eagerly awaiting the delicious pineapple she'll bring. She finally left, closing the door. Hey, we'll be alone again.
Kian Calen Levington POV
Where is the market? Why is it still there because my wife wants the pineapple she's craving? I've never been to a wet market. I took out my cell phone and considered texting my friend. Maybe she can help me.
Me: Hey, Gray. Come to the hospital. Meet me at the main entrance.
She knows where it is because she often helps Rosalia. They're very close. It's okay for me to go to the wet market alone. I don't even know where it is, and I have no idea how or where to find a pineapple inside it. Haha, if only I didn't really care about my wife and child.
I'll go through all this trouble just so she won't cry like that anymore and to see her happy. I laughed a little thinking about her crying over pineapple. Childish yet cute. What can I do if my wife is really pregnant, right?
I got on the elevator and pressed the ground floor button. Then I walked to the main entrance, waiting for my friend's arrival. Just a moment later, I saw her car coming. She parked it and got out.
"Oh, what's the problem?" She asked as she approached me. I scratched the back of my neck.
"My wife said she wants pineapple, and I don't know where to get it," I answered. Gray laughed at my reaction.
"Yes, and I'll go with you. You might get lost there," she said, starting to walk.
"Let's use my car," she suggested.
I just nodded and got into the front seat. Then she drove away. We reached the market. After getting out of the car, I was full of complaints.
"Is there no air conditioning here?" I asked, feeling hot and suddenly sweating.
"Seriously, Kian? Air conditioning? At the market?" Gray couldn't believe it.
"Isn't there? And why are there so many people? Don't tell me it's going to be really crowded," I complained again.
"Do you look gay if you act like that?" She asked, jokingly. I looked at her in disbelief.
"Peace!"
"Okay, for the sake of Estria and our future child, I'll go in there. If I give up, there's nothing I can do, and my wife might cry again if I don't buy her pineapple."
"That's the spirit," Gray said, laughing. We walked and entered the market. Is it really like this in the market? There was a lot of animal blood on our way, and the smell was still pungent. I'm not really used to such places.
"Where can we find pineapple here?" I asked Gray, who was busy on her cell phone, probably texting someone.
"I know a place, let's go," she said, pulling me along. We stopped where pineapples were being sold.
"Ma'am, buy some pineapples. They're only sixty-five each. It's cheap," said the woman selling them. I nodded and bought one for a hundred pesos. We waited as it was being peeled. Then she put it in a plastic bag and gave it to me.
"Keep the change," I said, and we walked out of the market.
When we got to the front of the hospital, I got out immediately.
"Thanks, Kian," Gray said, saying goodbye and quickly leaving in her car. I walked towards Estria's room. I saw her on her cell phone, and when she looked at me, she smiled.
"Hubby's here," she said, smiling.
"It's just me, a mere shadow," I joked, wondering who she was texting.
"Pssh," she rolled her eyes. Then she clapped when she saw the plastic bag I was holding. I peeled the pineapple and put it on a plate. I sat next to Estria's chair.
"Wifey, you can use the cell phone later. Eat the pineapple first," I told her. She stared at me and then suddenly smiled.
"Hubby, can you please?" She gave me puppy eyes. Why is she so cute? That's why I can't say no.
"What is it?"
"Eat the pineapple, and then I'll watch you," she happily promised.
"Are you serious? I eat pineapple? I've never eaten pineapple. I don't like it."
"Please," she pleaded like a child, begging me to eat the food I bought. What else can be done if she's not given what she wants?
"Fine," I gave in.
"Yeah!" I forced myself to eat the pineapple, even though I didn't want to. It's hard, but Estria is still pregnant, and she might sulk again. So, I can't say no. Maybe she'll be upset and think about running away again. No.
"Is it good, hubby?" She asked, smiling. Is Estria really teasing me?
"Y-yes," I tried to answer. Finally, it's over.
"You're great, Hubby, you're done," she proudly said. Will she really tease me? I ran to the comfort room, feeling like I was going to throw up because my stomach isn't really used to pineapple. She said that I don't really eat it.
"Hubby, are you okay?" Estria asked tearfully.
"Shh, don't cry, Wifey. It's not your fault. Okay?" I comforted her.
"Sorry, Hubby... Sorry," she apologized.
"It's okay, but on one condition," I said mischievously.
"What?" I grinned.
"Kiss me," I ordered. She grabbed my head and pulled me into a passionate kiss. She stopped.
"Your mouth is sour," she complained.
"I must have eaten pineapple," I blamed the pineapple. My wife stopped kissing me. Annoying.
"Hubby, thank you," she said while staring at me intently.
"For?"
"For making me happy," I was touched.
"Wifey, all i want is to make you happy."
"Hubby, I love you"
"I love you too, Wifey" i just smiled widely. Feeling the joy.
