A King is Never Wrong

Oscar got up and left the table but walked in the opposite direction of his wife with two guards that were posted by the door, following behind. He did not apologize for his wife’s behavior for he is King and kings don’t apologize. And people accepted. He is fuming mad however for she is right. How could he forget that Yeon had indeed disrespected her? Not that he cared, for she was no concern to him but she was right. Using his hand to stop them, he basically told them to not enter the room behind him and he walked in alone with his raging thoughts. Although his wife had been the one to dismiss Yeon's disrespect in the first place and so he had let it slip his mind, Oscar is King, and Kings don't let things casually slip their minds. Especially ones that were directed to any member of royalty. He was pissed with himself. He paced the floor as his thoughts became loud in his head trying to argue a point. He blamed her- it was her stupid fault in the first place for being so common. She was of lower class and she showed it just now. It did look bad on his part. He should not have invited her to the dinner. How dare she call Nuwa whor*? Nuwa is his love, his life, and the Prime Minister’s assistant not to mention his ex-fiancé. He had asked her to be his queen and she had said she’ll think it over but he knew she was teasing him for she wore his ring on her finger the next day. And it was that same week he was told she wasn’t the one he had to be with. Nuwa wasn’t a Royal but had it been up to him, she would have been- damn Ju and her witch ancestors for choosing his enemy as his wife! When he was a child, he had looked forward to this wife he would get married to and become King as told by his father and mother. She would be the most beautiful creature he would lay his eyes on his father had said but Oscar’s childlike dreams had been shattered when his father had countless women brought to his bed chambers after his mother’s death. Oscar had cried and asked him why he was doing that to his mother and his father had said when he was older, he would understand. Oscar and screamed at him for he knew then that his father had never been a faithful man to his mother while she was alive. His father had tried to explain to him that his mother knew ad it was ‘pretty normal for a King’ to have women in his chambers. "That's wrong," young Oscar had tried to reason but was met with, "A King is never wrong, young prince." Some very unpleasant words had exited his mouth after that and he was sent away to that dreadful place ‘until he learned to be a man’ and ‘the ways of the world’. It hadn’t been awful for a while for he had met Katherine, he had actually loved life and her but she was also the one that added towards his view on ‘love and happily ever afters’ as his sister used to say. He did learn the ways of the world however, thanks to Katherine. He had his revenge on Katherine for her rotten behavior and returned to his father’s Kingdom where he finished his ‘growing up’ period. His fangs came in on his twenty-first birthday but in the weeks leading up to it he had started tasting the venom in his mouth just as he was cautioned would happen by his father. He had looked forward to becoming a vampire his whole life, for he wanted to be a better King than his father...one with compassion since he was little. He had plans to change any of the laws too for he had grown up seeing protests happening. People had called his father’s rule as barbaric even. Those people were fined and had faced a prison sentence too. Oscar had vowed to help them when he grew up too but how he had changed since. Maybe it was the poison running through his veins or maybe it was the thought that he was now considered as an adult to rule that had Oscar’s changing moods. Maybe it was acceptance of himself and what he had inherited and what he had to become to be a great leader. He saw that his father’s rule was right and justified. The laws were near perfect. Somehow, he saw his people as sheep that needed a shepherd, and in the following two years, he studied the laws that covered their lands and decided some harsher punishments were needed and his father had obliged. It was during those two years, he had met Nuwa as she was one of the invited guests from the ministries and she made him feel somewhat whole as a human again. He fell for her hard and overjoyed his father had approved of her. He had been foolish enough to think that his father had accepted Nuwa as his future-in-law and had been happy but seeing how his father had reacted when he first heard of his wedding, he knew he had been wrong all along. The King had been over the moon and had made steps to step down as King, even though Oscar had not even known whom his future wife was yet. The sight of Katherine some months later had him reeling for he had known she would not agree to the wedding- heck even he didn’t want it. But without her, he would become weak and revert to a mere human his father and Ju confirmed. Oscar did not want that for he was feeling the adrenaline, the strength and power swimming through his blood already and he knew he could never be human again so he had Anthony do another background check on her. Only when he found out she was swimming in debt he made his move. He had broken the horrible news only then to Nuwa and she had agreed to accept the lowly status of becoming his mistress if it meant he would be in her life. He had almost wept for while his heart was broken, he saw how much Nuwa loved him and was willing to go through the worst, any woman had to go through in a relationship, just to keep him in her life. Even though he loved Nuwa, he still had other women and he couldn’t understand why he was that way. It was as if too much Nuwa irritated his body although his mind agreed it was wrong and wanted to be fateful to her, he just couldn’t be. He didn’t understand himself as it would feel like a deep craving inside him, robbing him of much-needed rest which had him feeling hollow on the inside. Oscar fought it at first but succumbed to the temptation, for no matter how hard he tried to resist the ‘craving’ for a different body every day, he always needed to see a new face and body for his restless body to stay pleased and then he would eventually be able to sleep. It was painful to know that Nuwa had accepted that too. It hurt Oscar to know that he was hurting her and he blamed Katherine for it all. So, he would not tolerate Katherine’s disrespectful words towards Nuwa- but the b*tch was indeed right again. He should not have invited Nuwa. Why did he have her sitting next to him? It’s not like the Prime Minister or even his other ministers were invited…why did he ever think his girlfriend and his wife should be at the same table? Looking at it from a political point d view he was wrong but he’ll never say that for a King is never wrong! Oscar pulled out a chair and seated himself covering his face with his hands, elbows on the table as he waited for the captain of his guards to show up. He had texted him to meet him in the Knights’ room. Just what exactly should he do about this entire situation now? Oscar looked up and saw Anthony looking at him as he entered with a look on his face that showed he was irritated. He was among the few people that the King allowed to show their true expressions with. Nuwa, Eric, Ju and his father were the only others. Ju was slightly crazy so he had no control over her really so he had accepted her as she was. Nuwa because he loved her, Eric was his best friend since he was a child and Anthony, he trusted with his life. Oh yeah and Katherine but he didn’t allow it…she was just disrespectful to him. “Your Majesty?”
