chapter 1: the truth revealed

Kate lives with her father Chole in a village called Velda. Her mother died when she was little. Her father took care of her ever since. Kate became the only thing for chole's life.
her father did not teach her self-defence to protect her from danger. Although Chole is from a warrior family, he still doesn't want to follow it because of something. Some incident which made him lose his parents.
She never got to see her grandma or grandpa. She doesn't even remember her mother so much except for her last words that she told her before she died.
" Follow your dreams even when everyone is against it, and remember I will always be with you".
When she asks her father about what happened to her mother he would say she died due to a disease. He always tells her about her mother, Jane. Her kind and pleasant heart. and when it comes to dangers, she was stiff and strong.
She once wanted to know about her grandparents, so she asked him once to tell about his parents.
He decided to tell her as he felt she needs to know as she is grown up.
He begins his tale,
"My family comes from a warrior family. We used to rule a village called shinex. The people obeyed my parents. They called my parents guardians. It was beautiful, peaceful and people lived there happily.
Happiness ended when an evil sorcerer attacked my parents. the sorcerer cast a spell on the village which made the people of the village weak. As a result, my parents weren't able to protect the village and got defeated".
His eyes were gleaming with tears. He wiped them and continued.
"I was able to escape. I didn't want to escape. I wanted to fight back. Like my parents. But they forced me to leave. And I just left. I shouldn't have left. Now I feel coward". He suddenly felt lost.
She shifted herself near to her father and hugged him.
"What they asked you to do was right. If you would not have left, you would have met with the same fate. You didn't lose your family, I am still there with you".
"My dear daughter, I am proud I have a daughter like you". He smiled feeling proud.
"Father, please continue I want to know more". Kate asks her father.
"I walked and walked. Day and night, until my legs felt numb and crumbled. When I finally felt I am far away I decided to settle where I was standing, Velda". He sighed in relief.
"I was 15 years old then. I had to earn anyway. I couldn't return there. after I knew the danger there. I sold the armour I wore. I sold The expensive robe I wore at my place as the prince. Which was enough for a month until I ran out. Then a miracle happened. Once a fearful group of robbers came to the village and put all the villager's life at stake until I stopped them and saved the village. They were so happy that they presented me to the landlord there. he was happy and honoured me with a good amount of money. he entitled me to the village, 'the saviour'. The martial art never seemed to exist there. Thus they felt me a powerful man. with that amount, I was able to do everything to make up living. I married the landlord's daughter when I was old enough". He felt happy. "The destiny opened the door this is the reason you're living happily now".
"Why don't you teach me Martial art? Then I could kick those robbers if they came again". She looked serious.
"Why? Don't you think I am strong enough? I can protect all of you from those robbers" He joked.
" father, I am serious. We can stop the sorcerer if we both master Martial art, I mean if I master". she said. "you are good at it".
"It is dangerous there. and I can't think of losing you, dear kate". he spoke softly and politely.
"We have to go there once. even if everything is shattered into pieces".
"I told you we aren't going there". his tone changes.
"Father. please. forgive me but we never know what if they survived and are looking for you". kate argued softly.
"I said, 'ENOUGH," he shouted and stamped the ground hard as the wind hushed to the corner of the room throwing and scattering things around the room.
she gasped. even if she was disappointed about her father's denial, she was mesmerized by the martial art the art he did in the room. she fell in love with martial art and knew what to follow now.
