CHAPTER 4

Helping friends is a wonderful act that brings joy and fulfillment to life. It not only strengthens our personal relationships but also gives us a feeling of love and support for each other. By helping our friends, we have the opportunity to bring happiness and comfort to their lives. This not only gives us honor as a friend, but it also strengthens our bond and trust in each other.

But in my situation now, I hesitate to help her because the same thing happened to me before.

FLASHBACK

I am currently here in the living area of Kiel's house to do my assignment. We've gotten used to coming to their house every Thursday to do our assignments for tomorrow.

Kiel Quintos is my boyfriend for almost 3 months. He is 21 years old and a 4th year college student taking Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) while I am 18 years old and a 1st year college student taking Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Math. He is my first boyfriend because I saw in him the qualities of a man that I was looking for. He's kind and I saw the spark between us. He was also very attentive, especially when he was courting me. It only took him about two months to court me because I was suddenly afraid that someone else might take him away from me. Who wouldn't be afraid when the campus crush is courting you? Many people also say that Kiel wasn't really courting me and I was just assuming it, so I immediately said yes to him so that we wouldn't be gossiped about and hear things from our fellow students who are envious... Our relationship went well because he really shows everyone at school that I'm his girlfriend. He also loves to put in effort and he's proud to have me as his girlfriend, and he's super sweet to me because every afternoon he accompanies me to buy kwek-kwek (Philippine street food) from the store near our school. He can't eat it because he's allergic to eggs. One time, I forced him to eat kwek-kwek because he doesn't eat street food, and when he ate it, his body turned red and he got a rash. He didn't go to school for almost two days and was angry with me for what happened, but I found it cute and sweet because even though he wasn't allowed to eat that kind of food, he still ate it. It's so nice that my first boyfriend has a green flag attitude!

I slowly sat down on the floor mat carpet where Kiel was sleeping soundly on the sofa, probably tired from playing volleyball during our P.E. classes.

I stared at his attractive and loveable face. His face is so smooth, as if he doesn't get pimples. His nose is also very pointed and his thick eyebrows are beautiful, which really suit him. He also smells so good and he looks even more handsome in his school uniform.

I was about to touch his face when his phone rang out, which was placed on top of the table where I was writing earlier, suddenly rang. It was the sound of his messenger.

At the same time, the surroundings gradually darkened, indicating that it was about to rain. I suddenly got nervous because I didn't know if what was going to happen between Kiel and me was good or bad luck.

I trust Kiel, but I suddenly overthink for no reason. It's like a negative instinct that suddenly entered my mind.

I slowly stood up and walked towards his phone so he wouldn't hear what I was going to do.

As I got closer, I hesitated whether to take his phone.

I felt like I would see something I wouldn't like if I took it, but if I didn't take it, I might regret this opportunity.

As the thunder roared, Kiel's phone rang again, repeatedly.

Why does he have so many messages now?

Is there an important message he needs to see now?

Should I interfere with his phone?

Maybe he'll get mad?

I looked at Kiel first, who was still sleeping soundly.

He probably won't get mad at me because I'm his girlfriend.

With that thought, I quickly took his phone, but I suddenly covered my mouth when I saw that his wallpaper was a picture of my friend, Celestia Marenzo! It was a profile picture from f*******:, smiling while holding a yellow and white kalachuchi flower.

She became my best friend here at school since I enrolled because I was with her then and we were both not enrolled because we were both lacking requirements. We both laughed at that incident and we both cried because we didn't expect that we had to pay ₱5,000.00 for miscellaneous fees and we both didn't have money at that time because we only had our fare money and we both came from poor families.

Since that day, she became my friend and we became classmates because we took the same course, so I wouldn't have thought that she would betray me and take away my boyfriend!

As the heavy raindrops fell, my tears also fell.

Even though my hands were shaking, I still opened his phone because I wasn't satisfied with just seeing the wallpaper.

When I opened his phone, I was a little surprised because it didn't have a password. When I'm with him, he shows me his screen lock pattern, but I can't understand it right away because it's too fast and has many lines but now it doesn't have.

We didn't talk about passwords on our phones or even our social media accounts because we both trusted each other, but based on what I saw earlier, it's like my trust in him suddenly vanished!

I quickly opened his messenger app and the conversation between him and Celestia will just happen earlier!
