CHAPTER 3

1026 Words
Anyway, Jimmy is a male friend of mine but he treats me as if he's courting me because he's very sweet to me and he sends me updates. He also gives me gifts and always invites me out to eat, and I can't refuse him because we work together, so it's hard to reject him. He told me that he wants to court me and I declined, but he keeps approaching me. I don't have any romantic feelings for Jimmy because I just want us to be friends. He's kind and handsome, but he doesn't have the qualities I look for in a man. I'm looking for something I can't explain in a man, you know. Someone who can make my heart happy even if he's not handsome. I've experienced that about 6 or 7 years ago. The kind where you feel a spark from the first time you meet. The kind where you're walking together but you feel like the surroundings are in slow motion and it's just the two of you there. Like in a movie, that's what I want but I didn't feel that with him, I just saw him as a friend. After getting ready, I went to the living room and borrowed Caelan's cellphone to see who had messaged me. "Give it back as soon as my girlfriend messages you," she said seriously while teaching Kade how to write. I laughed at what he said. "I might take a while to return this, I need to wait for your invisible girlfriend." I joked and he laughed too. He doesn't have a girlfriend, maybe it's been about 2 years. She's too focused on studying now unlike before when I saw his chatting with different people. I sat next to them and checked my phone. There's a long bamboo bench in our living room and in front of it is our 24-inch TV, so we all gather here on the same bench. Their clothes are also placed next to us because we only have three rooms and it doesn't fit inside. I opened my messenger and saw that Jimmy had messaged me with updates and even pictures. I just replied to him about what really happened so I couldn't send him a lot of messages. I was about to log out my account when Azalea suddenly called me through video call. "Bestie, what's the news about the raindrops?" she asked when i answered her call, referring to the events in my life. She is Azalea Valley, my rich and beautiful friend. She has long honey tea brown hair and smooth skin. She's tall and likes to join pageants but she doesn't know how to sing and dance, so when there's a talent portion, she just acts and does funny things. She also knows a lot about my life so I feel comfortable sharing with her about everything, especially about what's happening in my life. "As always, bestie, I got fired from my job again," I told her sadly. "Why? What happened?" she asked. "I don't know yet. I'll talk to them tomorrow." I answered. "Maybe you did something wrong?" "I did nothing wrong, I work cleanly! I did everything they asked just so I wouldn't lose my job but what did they do? They still fired me without knowing what really happened." I said angrily to her, like a child reporting. "Ah, we're so pitiful," she said before taking a deep breath. "Why? Did you also have a bad luck?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow. "I'm really unlucky, bestie. I'm even unluckier than you." She said sadly and tears welled up in her eyes, so I signaled her to be quiet and not speak. I went to my room and put on earphones because I knew she was going to say something serious and it shouldn't be heard by the people in the house, even though it's raining hard, they can still hear me because they're nosy. "Okay, tell me what happened," I said after adjusting my earphones. "Today is our 1st anniversary with my boyfriend." She said which surprised me. "Really? Did you say yes to him last June 8? Happy anniversary to both of you." I said, feeling giddy. "What you said is not funny." I was surprised by what she said and she scolded me. "W-why? D-did I say something wrong?" I asked nervously. "We broke up." she said, which shocked me, my eyes widened at what I know. "W-what? Y-you broke up? Why? How? When?" I asked in quick succession and I couldn't help but raise my voice. "Just now, he said I don't have time for him." she said with a choked voice and tears started to fall. "W-what?" I asked in disbelief. Instead of answering my question, she just cried and cried. On this day, a deep and painful wound was left in the hearts of two people who once loved each other. Their relationship was full of beautiful memories, but in the end, they weren't meant for each other. It's sad to think that despite all the experiences and challenges they went through, it still ended. The sweetness of their smiles and joy were replaced by sadness and regret. I know this is very painful for Azalea because I witnessed how much she loved her boyfriend. As a friend of Azalea's, it's hard to imagine how she's coping with the trials that came in her relationship. Love shouldn't bring pain and suffering, but sometimes it's also part of the process of loving. We can't avoid getting hurt, but we still need to continue accepting and forgiving. The heart is not easy to forgive and forget, but in due time, it can still heal and love again. "Bestie, help me get back and revenge at him," she said after crying. She looked at me as if she was very sure of her decision and was just waiting for my approval. Is this the reason why she called me? To ask for help in getting back and revenge at her ex-boyfriend? Should I help her with what she wants to do? Should her ex-boyfriend be retaliated against?
