Cute Little Moments

2009 Words
Tinkerbell coming along as I bought a new shirt for the Blackwood event was not something I ever expected to happen. I usually went shopping alone and sometimes Nina brought me something nice. She couldn’t help herself. Tinkerbell held onto my arm as I observed the many shirts the overpolite shop assistant showed me. The woman hanging on my arm like it was a lifeline tilted her head back and looked me in the eye with such a curious look in her eyes. “What?” I asked her, trying to pull my arm back yet she wouldn’t let go. The cheeky gleam in her eyes told me she enjoyed this moment too much. I could only imagine what she’d be up to at the Blackwood event. “I like the blue one.” “Which one there are three tones of blue in there.” She pointed at a deeper blue color which lingered to royal blue, “That kind of blue. It looks good on you.” I frowned at her, “That kind of blue?” I asked her, “You’re a photographer, aren’t you supposed to know these things?” The harsh look which followed made the overpolite shop-assistant step back while the temperature in the room dropped severely. I really tried to pull my arm back then, I really tried but now she wasn't letting go for different reasons. None which I would like to hear about. "I don't need to know the fascinating aspects of color theory and other things involving the different tones of blue which would match well with someone's skin color." That was a sensitive subject I assumed. “Sorry I assumed that you have a lot of knowledge about colors?” She pressed her lips together, looking more amused than normal with me. I guess the woman was joking, trying to be funny yet I really worried that I offended her in some way. She held onto my arm with both hands and suddenly leaned in. That shocked me more than finding out I slept with her that one morning weeks ago. She pressed a kiss to the corner of my mouth, pulling back to look at me with that big grin spread across her face. “Sorry, I was just messing around with you.” I figured that out after seeing that amused look in her eyes. “I kind of got that.” She let go of my arm which weirdly enough made me miss her presence beside me. I had issues when it came to this bubbly woman who could be as sarcastic as hell. Feelings were bubbling up which I didn’t want to face so I focused on the blue shirt which she grabbed from the shop-assistant and held up in front of me. “It looks good with the hair and the eyes. I mean, could you try it on?” I took the shirt from her, “Yeah sure.” This whole thing was odd, it felt like we were a couple shopping together. Having a fun time together. Well, at least one of us was having a great time. Tinkerbell was all smiles and laughter. It was fun to see her like that. She was like this when Nina invited us over for dinner. My parents too, all in such a good mood. Tinkerbell didn’t question me at all when I called her to invite her to this Blackwood event. She agreed right away. No hesitation whatsoever. It made me wonder about her feelings. "I'll try it on," I told her, ready to have some space to clear my head. She smiled at me, "Great if you get that then I know what I should wear." I glanced at the shirt, “Oh, I see. You want me to get this so you have the perfect dress to wear.” She faked gasped, looking at me as if she was insulted. We both knew she wasn’t. The woman was having the time of her life doing some shopping with me. The shop-assistant led me to the changing room. I forgot that fancy department stores came with fancy changing rooms. The room I was in was like a waiting room of sorts. A whole family could sit on the sofa as I changed. That was very weird. Ignoring that I did try on the deep colored shirt and had to admit that it looked good on me. Now Tinkerbell could wear the dress she wanted to wear. “How are you holding up in there?” Tinkerbell asked, her voice sounding muffled by the closed door. It was cute that she was waiting outside, showing signs of impatience. “It’s quite cozy in here.” She came in without warning and closed the door behind her, “Have you seen what you’re going to pay for that shirt?” She whispered, “It should be f*****g cozy in here. You’re buying a small car after all.” That was even cuter. Grace had nothing on her. Tinkerbell was the kind of woman I wouldn’t mind at all to spend time with. She approached me with careful steps and gestured for me to twirl. “I’m not doing that.” She pouted like a little kid, "Come on, Nick, just do it." “Fine.” I huffed, “Did the nice girl see you get in here?” I asked her as I did the twirl she asked of me. Tinkerbell smirked mischievously at me, “Yes and she made a face about it. The woman does not approve.” I smirked in return, “We’re scandalous.” She dropped her bag on the sofa and approached me, this with more determined steps. She pressed her hand against my chest, looking quite pleased with herself. “My God, this fabric is amazing.” She said quietly, “So soft.” I covered her hand with mine, “Right.” She leaned in, brushing her lips against mine, “Now we’re being scandalous.” She whispered as she pulled out of the quick kiss, “Me feeling you up and kissing you.” She smirked, “So scandalous.” Shaking my head at her being so silly, I pulled my hand away from her and then wrapped my arms around her waist. I pressed her firmly against me, noticing how her eyes brightened and her smile got wider. Now she was definitely having the time of her life. "That wasn't even a kiss," I told her. She wrapped her arms around my neck, “It wasn’t?” She asked, “I bet this is the part where you show me what an actual kiss entails.” I captured her lips for a kiss, the kiss immediately hot and wet. We deepened the kiss, barely breathing as we more or less tried to devour each other. I suppose that’s what happens when you run around in circles. We couldn’t get enough of each other, if I didn’t stop it now we would definitely do something which would make the shop-assistant frown. Yet neither one of us made a move to stop. *** I showed my sister the shirt Tinkerbell picked for me. Nina looked impressed with it. Blackwood and my sister came over for dinner. It was nice having them around. I didn’t think I would enjoy my time with the both of them but surely that had something to do with the heavy make-out session I had with Tinkerbell in the changing room. The shop-assistant did frown when she watched us walk out together, both of us looking flustered. My hair all over the place while Tinkerbell's cheeks were bright pink. That was something else. “Amber picked this out?” She asked, caressing the fabric as if it was a puppy she was petting. “What are you doing?” I asked her. She looked up, “This is totally worth the price, I’m telling you. It feels so good.” She put the shirt down and smiled at me knowingly, “So she’s the reason why you’re going to this thing?” She asked, “I mean I’m married to the host and I’m not going.” I trailed my eyes from hers to her stomach, “Well, it would be a long night. Wouldn’t you feel uncomfortable now that you’re pregnant?” “I’m not going to pop yet.” She sighed, “She totally is, isn’t she?” I heard Blackwood trying to muffle a chuckle. He was failing at it. His wife amused him, good for them. At least they got along very well too. I got it now that I was spending more time with Tinkerbell. She made me want to laugh even when I was annoyed or pissed. She just had a way with me. “Grace wanted me to take her, she paid me a surprise visit at the office. Even upset Madeline with her presence.” Nina’s mouth dropped, “No, way!” Blackwood looked appalled by it, “You need to be firm with her. Her obsession is getting out of control.” His look got more serious, “Do you want me to see what I can do?” Nina pointed at me accusingly, “You’re doing this to spite her.’ She wasn’t wrong so I didn’t respond which made her gasp. “Dear brother, what happened to you?” She asked, she looked serious all of the sudden too even though she was cracking jokes left and right a minute ago, “Aren’t those two friends?” “Yeah, but I think Amber is getting sick of her too.” “Who wouldn’t?” Jacob rolled his eyes. Blackwood never dealt with Grace yet he was done with her too. It was great to have supportive people like Blackwood and Nina surrounding me. They got my annoyance with Grace and they didn’t judge me for wanting to annoy the woman a little. “Make a statement that night.” Jacob told me, “If she doesn’t back off then you should consider other options like getting a restraining order.” "What?" Nina didn't seem to like that idea, "Isn't that a little too much? The woman is just in love with the idea of marrying a Merigold. I mean think of all the clothes and shoes she can buy? In her mind, she already bought a car and house and everything." “That little crush of hers could become dangerous, Nina.” Blackwood wasn’t backing off at all. I’m sure memories came back to him. He had an assistant who more or less was like Grace. Blackwood knew a thing or two about a woman obsessed, “Be cautious around her.” “I will, thanks.” He nodded and then focused back on his coffee. It made Nina make cute noises as she pointed at the two of you. “You’re like best friends now, it’s cute.” I rolled my eyes at her, “There is a lot you find cute tonight.” “Because my brother and husband are being so adorable tonight, I can’t stop awing and smiling.” Blackwood wasn’t wrong though. Grace’s obsession with me could become dangerous. There was that one time she stole Owen’s phone to get in touch with me. Then she manipulated me to get her way. I did need to be cautious around her and something told me Tinkerbell should too.
