I was frozen, for a fraction of a second. I stared blankly at Xavier's body, lifeless. I felt a dull weight settle in my chest.
I had seen a lot of deaths in my life and I was certain this particular one would rock me, not because of my personal feelings but Nina’s.
I already knew the devastation she would feel when I tell her that her father was gone because I myself had experienced the loss of a loved one.
