I was jolted awake by a loud, insisted knock in the door. I woke up suddenly, feeling scared and confused. Someone was banging on my door really loudly, and it wouldn't stop. I was so sleepy and disoriented, but I forced myself to sit up and rub my eyes. As I looked around nothing seemed right. The room around me was unfamiliar, the furniture and decor, bed was different and weird to me. Panic started to bubble up inside me as the memories of the previous night crashed over me. I took a few deep breaths, trying to steady myself. The pain of realization hit me hard. This place was now where I lived, this was my new reality.
The knocking started again, even louder this time.
