Tears filled my eyes hopelessly fixed on him. Xavier was trying to control himself, his anger. I could see his fists clenching and unclenching. I could feel his anger radiating. But that anger wasn't for me. It was for Bill's audacity in challenging his authority.
“Okay, then let’s see.” Bill gritted his teeth in anger. He didn’t like Xavier’s words, clearly frustrated that none of his actions seemed to affect Xavier in the way he'd hoped.
“Let’s take it like a game,” Bill challenged, a wicked smile spreading across his face. “How long does this Omega survive?”
“N-” My potential scream died before it could escape, strangled by the crushing grip that seemed intent on squeezing the very life from me. Tears exploded from my eyes, hot and desperate, while my body twisted and shook.
