Lily opened the door to find Sara standing there, her thin lips pressed into a disapproving line.
"I understand you'll be joining the serving staff tonight," she said, her voice chilly.
"Yes," I replied, trying to keep my voice neutral. "Alpha Xavier requested it."
Sara's eyes narrowed. "How convenient for you. Well, since you have no experience with formal service, I suggest you arrive early for instruction." She glanced around my small room with disdain. "I won't have the reputation of this house tarnished because the Alpha has a... soft spot for certain staff."
My cheeks burned at the implication, but I maintained my composure. "Of course. I'll be there."
With a final disapproving look, Sara departed, her footsteps sharp against the floor.
