Regrets
On a dark windy night, with darkness blanketing the whole world, within the gloomy wood there was a man laying on the ground, his blood dry and the area around him crimson. With the amount of blood it would seem that the man was dead, but the shallow breathing through his nose says otherwise. The animals and nature itself-seemed to be waiting with sadness for the man to finally escape his suffering into the afterlife peacefully.
As the moon climbed higher and higher, the man still hung onto his life with a weak but firm grasp and just as the early hours of the morning were approaching, a sudden rush of footsteps disturbbed the quiet and peace of the area, and that was enough to make him gain consciousness.
As the man opened his eyes, he was surrounded by the newcomers, and at the front of their group, someone who seemed to be the leader stepped forward.
The leader stepped forward revealing a scarred face with a large smile, stepping onto the blood covered ground without even blinking as he squatted near the head of the man, who was still laying in his own blood.
"Well Mark, I must say that it must be fate for you to end up here, you tried so hard to avenge your pack after the events that took place here many years ago, but ironically you're dying yourself"
Mark grit his teeth viciously and managed to put some strength into his right hand and punched the grin off the bastard's face, watching one of his teeth fly to the other side of the clearing as the leader fell back onto the ground was enough to relieve some of his pain.
As he fell back onto the ground, Mark knew that he was done, he could feel the life slipping out of his body and he didn't even feel it when his heart was dug out by Seth the leader of the team that had been hunting him for throughout this past month , and as his felt himself slipping into nothingness, he felt an unwillingness to accept defeat and to fail so badly raising out of the depth of his heart. He regretted being so weak that he couldn't protect his mate and beloved, and he regretted that the murderers of his entire pack were free, happy and living while everything important to him was lost and ripped away from him.
He had so many regrets, but unfortunately there is no medicine for regret.
On a hillside by the ocean, with nothing moving besides the fish swimming below the water, the waves crashing into the rocks below the steep end of the cliff, the sea breeze wheeling through the air, up the hill there was greenery everywhere there was a path cutting through the middle of nature. On the path there was a man walking, he was 6 ft 2, had a scar that ran the length of his cheek and he was carrying a container, the man was unkempt and there were signs of fighting everywhere on his body, as he walked he approached a house on the end of the hillside.
The house was large and loomed across the area seemingly isolated from the rest of the world, the door of the house was made of darkwood with a gold door knob attached to it, the walls seemed endless and paint dark brown, the man entered the house without a pause, as if he had done this a million times, the foyer was clean and almost looked untouched, the wood floors were polished and gleamed, there was high arched window to the left of the foyer. In the middle of the foyer was a black spiral staircase leading up to the second floor.
The man walked many rooms, the only sound in the house being his footsteps in the other silent house, he came to a stop at the end of the hallway and knocked on the door and waited patiently.
“Enter”
The man stepped in and bowed his head to the man in the room, nothing could be seen of the man except for the hand holding a wine glass, with his back to the room, he turned his head and asked, “How did it go?”
"He's dead, we made sure that he died before he could activate his pack's ability. We managed to recover his whole heart."
Calton smiled as he looked at the heart that was offered to him. He picked it up and bit into it, and as he continued to take bite after bite he could feel more and more strength filling him but as he devoured the last piece of the heart he could feel something wrong, his pupils shrank sharply as more and more energy filled his body. He had no time to even scream before his whole body erupted, the aroma of blood filled the room as blood dried the room red.
There was so much blood that it flowed outside of the room through the crack of the door.
