Forgive Me?
Rae pulled into her driveway, and saw that Xander's car was parked closest to the front door, which was her sign of knowing that Avery had been at the house. When she entered the house, she was surprised to see Avery sitting on the couch watching TV and using a spoon to eat out of a huge container of ice cream. “Are you okay?,” Rae nervously asked. Avery, clicked through the channels, and with a mouthful of ice cream, “What is wrong with me? Why do I always feel good doing bad things? I can't seem to want to be alone, and I apparently keep a healthy relationship,” shoveling more ice cream into her mouth. Rae put her bag down, hung up her keys, and took a seat next to Avery on the couch, stealing herself a spoonful of ice cream. She was trying to hide the fact that she too had done something bad herself. “I don't have an answer for that,” she tried to get out before fighting her brain freeze. “I know I shouldn't have been messing with that guy on the chaise, but I got turned on watching Xander. I left the door open a little, like I wanted to be caught. And this guy walked by and peeked in. I couldn't help myself, I started to flirt, then play with myself, and before I knew it, he was on top of me and I was becoming well acquainted with his tongue, among other parts of his anatomy,” Avery lowered her head feeling something that Rae couldn't quite put her finger on. That's when the tears started to swell in Avery's eyes and she began to sob.
Rae's phone had started to ring, again. It had constantly been going off since she left the mansion, and she refused to check it. She had already convinced herself that it was Xander. As Rae returned her focus on Avery, the phone continued to ring again. “Are you going to answer that?” Avery had asked after wiping her tears on Rae's sleeve. Looking over at her phone, Rae was determined to stand her ground and not cave to Xander at all. “No, if it's important, they can leave a message,” Rae turned her focus on Avery again, that is until Avery's phone had started to ring. “It's him...,” she stared at her phone before actually answering. “Hi baby...,” Avery answered in a sweet and innocent voice as she leaped off of the couch and ran to her bedroom, slamming the door behind herself. Rae looked back at the steps before taking the spoon out of the ice cream container and walking it back into the kitchen to put it away. She walked to check out her phone and saw that she had twenty four missed calls, just as many voice messages, and god only knew how many text messages. The most recent were from Xander, but there were some that were only a few hours old. She was startled to find that they were from Roma, her sous chef. “Rae... I need to talk to you. It's Duke... something happened...”, as Rae listened she could hear the heartache and pain she must have been feeling. There were a few other messages that she didn't bother to listen to, she immediately called Roma back.
“Rae?,” she heard Roma's shaken voice, as though she was trying to fight back tears to talk. “Roma?... Is everything alright?” After that moment, Rae wasn't able to say anything else. Roma had explained that Duke had been attacked, and was currently at the hospital. He was in intensive care and had not woken up since the attack had occurred. She also explained, that the authorities were contacted when Duke did not have identification on his person, and that they believed that he was an illegal alien. “Roma, where are you now?”, Rae was already grabbing her keys, planning on going to the restaurant knowing exactly what she could bring to show that he was a legal citizen.
Making her way into the hospital parking lot and heading into the ICU, Rae could see a huddle of law enforcement agents standing outside of Duke's room, and Roma crouched on the floor her head in her hands. “Roma!,” Rae called out to her. Roma beamed as Rae came closer to her, “I am so happy that you are here! They will not let me see him. And they are already in talks of contacting the immigration officers to take him into custody.” Rae gripped her in a tight hug, “Don't worry, I've got everything under control.” She walked over to the agents, “Is there anyone I can talk to about Duke Boyash?” No one in the huddle was giving her the time of day, which only angered Rae more. “Excuse me...”, she said sweetly but with a tad more aggression, and still had not received a response. “Gentleman! Can I have a moment of your time! Please!,” she screamed at the top of her lungs, which caused all of the officers to turn and look at her. “Now, I'm not trying to be rude, but I have paperwork to prove Mr. Boyash is indeed a US citizen, this would allow you gentlemen and ladies to get back onto the street.” She waved the paperwork over her head, practically using it as bait to move them closer to her. Many of the officers were mumbling that she was a b***h under their breath, but Rae was not concerned with anything they thought or said about her, her main concern was for Duke and Roma. “This is his N-600 form for citizenship. This is a copy of his father's passport, who was in the United States Armed Forces, even though Duke was born in Romania. They have all been notarized because I had to have all of this done for me to file W-2's for him a few years ago when he started working at my restaurant,” Rae handed over all of the paperwork, and watched as the officers started making phone calls and contacting authorities to verify if the paperwork was true and official. “Now Roma, tell me what happened?,” Rae asked as she held her in her arms. Roma tried to compose herself to gather her words together so her mouth could keep up. “He called me to let me know that he was coming over to help me fix my car. It needed something. When he didn't show, I started to call him, and he didn't answer, I started to worry. I walked down towards the shopping strip and saw a car speeding off away from where I was, and I saw that there was something laying on the ground. When I heard a cough, I realized it was a person. When I ran over to them, I saw the tattoo and knew that it was Duke. Most likely he was flirting with a girl that he shouldn't, and it made someone jealous, and they beat the s**t out of my brother. I called the 9-1-1, and they brought us to the hospital. I started to worry when the nurses and doctors and the officers asked for his papers, and I didn't have them. They started to say that they were going to hold him until someone could show up with the paperwork, or they would be sending him to immigration.” Rae just patted her back, stroked her hair, and let her sob onto her chest. “Did the police investigate anything into who did this to him?”, Roma looked up through her tears and shook her head no. Rae looked over she shoulder and saw that the officers were still just standing around conversing among themselves. “They never took a statement from you? Or even a description of the car?,” Roma again shook her head no. Rae moved Roma's arms from her waist and stormed over to the officers in their huddle. “Excuse me?,” she said in a pressing tone. One of the officers turned around briefly and then turned back to the group. This time Rae tapped him on the shoulder, “Excuse me sir?” He turned to look at her with an agitated expression on his face, “Yes maim?” The arrogant tone in his voice only fueled the anger that she had felt for the neglect that they had given to Roma and Duke. “Well, I'm sorry for interrupting your conversation and laughter, but there was an assault that occurred, and it doesn't seem that any of you care much about that. The man that is laying in that hospital bed unconscious was beaten in the face and the body, brutally. And you are going to have an attitude with me, because I am asking for you to do your job? You haven't taken a statement from her or what she saw, or even the car those assholes left in! Have any of you even bothered to take into consideration that there was an incident that happened in the first place? Or was it the severity of his citizenship overshadowing the altercation? Have you ever had something happen to a family member, that you cared for, and found that the authorities showed no care or concern for?” The pause from her rant completely caught the officer off guard, and his furrowed brow subsided, and now showed a sympathetic expression. “I do, and your right. I was not the officer that was first on scene, so I didn't know the circumstances. But now that I am aware, I will make sure to retrieve a statement from that young woman behind you, as much as from the gentleman in the room when he is conscious,” the officer finished and proceeded to walk behind Rae and sit down next to Roma, comforting her as she started to explain what she had walked upon when she found her brother.
The officer that had taken all of the paperwork Rae had brought, was walking back towards her with a smile on his face. “I do appreciate that you were able to bring this down for us. That only answers one of the questions we have for all of this.” Rae looked at him seriously confused. “What do you mean?” The officer didn't want to say too much, because they were still considering this an open investigation, but, “This isn't the first incident that we have had like this. There have been two previous incidents that occurred. I was able to look at the cameras outside of the businesses and was able to identify the vehicle leaving, which was the same vehicle that was also in the area during the other two incidents.” Just then the doctor came out into the waiting area, and I saw Roma leap to her feet and run to him. “Doctor, is he going to be okay?,” she held onto Rae for support, until she heard the doctors words. The doctor reviewed his chart, and cleared his throat before answering, “He is in stable condition, but not awake just yet. He has a broken jaw, a fractured eye socket, a fractured rib, severe bruising on his face and body. No internal bleeding or punctures, but he did sustain a concussion, and we will have to keep him for observation.” Once the words were able to register in Roma's brain, a huge smile of relief appeared on her face. She leaned forward and wrapped her arms around the doctor thanking him repeatedly.
Rae's phone started to ring, and she realized that it was Russ. “Rae? Oh thank God!!! How are they? Roma called me earlier and told me that there was an incident but... Wait, are you with them now? How is he? Did you hear anything about him yet?,” Russ was running questions a mile a minute, and Rae was having a difficult time trying to keep up with him. After explaining everything and catching Russ up to speed, she knew the next question was coming, “Rae, you know I would never do this too you, but do you think you could come in? I really have no other options at the moment...” Russ was desperately pleading with her on the phone, and offering everything he possibly could, including doubling her salary. Before he could go any further she agreed just to shut him up, but she was aware she would have to be in shortly to run the kitchen.
Avery sat waiting for Xander to show up at the house. She knew he would come to her since she was holding his car hostage. Their argument on the set today had proved to her that Xander had a jealous side. Seeing him flare up with anger, when he saw her with the other guy, turned her on. She loved getting a rise out of him, whether it was good or bad. When he would get to the house, she was definitely going to make it up to him and show him that he was still at the top of her list. The moment she got off the phone with him, she realized she had the house to herself. Rae had left, which gave Avery hours to get ready and make sure she looked gorgeous for him when he arrived. Her hair was perfectly in place, her make up was flawless, and her outfit hugged all of her curves. She had started to worry that they hadn't had s*x, since they had kept Rae up all night. When they did spend time together all they had done was some heavy petting and oral participation, but tonight, Avery was planning on showing him that she knew a few tricks of her own. To pass the time away until his arrival, she sat on the sofa taking selfies of herself and posting to i********: and Snap Chat. But the moment she heard a car horn honk in the driveway, she took one long last look in the mirror before she opened the door.
Leaning against the doorway, tossing her hair over her shoulder, she rocked her hips and walked towards him. “Hi baby,” she placed her hands on his arms and touched him softly, until her hands were in his. She leaned up and gave him a soft sweet kiss on the cheek. “I know I was wrong with what I did today,” she continued to touch him as she apologized. He folded his arms on his chest, and scowled at her as she proceeded to flirt. “I know there is no excuse for what I did, and I will spend all of my waking time trying to make it up to you. Please, baby...,” she placed her hands on his jaw, cupping his face, before slipping her tongue between his lips and aggressively attacking his tongue. As her tongue was working hard, she made sure to put her body to work too, and constantly rubbed her breasts against his chest, making him unfold his arms, and wrap them around her waist. Being cradled in his arms, she stopped kissing him, and gave him her best angelic eyes she ever could, “Would you be willing to give me a second chance?” She rocked her body back and forth against his, and even though she didn't receive a smile from Xander, his head nod was an acceptable answer. The moment he moved away from the car, Avery saw that it was the same sexy Latino man she had met on the set who had driven him to her house. “Hi again,” she greeted him sweetly. “Bruno, right?”, she asked, playing stupid like she hadn't remembered. “Hey,” he responded back quickly. Xander looked at his phone, and saw that Rae hadn't read any of the texts, nor did she bother to call him back. “Is Rae here?”, he asked Avery, who seemed to be flirting with Bruno. “She left a little while ago. I think she's at work. Said that she had to work Jade tonight.” Xander lowered his head, already knowing that he lost the battle because he was going to give Avery a second chance. But Avery made matters worse, “Hey, I'm a little hungry, how about I take you guys there for dinner?”
