Everything we do in life is based on the choices we make, but we are not free of the consequences we are left with. It's these consequences that lead to our life's fate.

Rae felt as though she met her true love, but made the decision to cut him loose, with the thought that fate would again bring them together once again. Oh! It did, just not the way she was hoping.

The years have brought Rae into adulthood, trying to juggle working at a tattoo parlor, cooking up food at The Jade Court, and keeping an eye on the safety of her reckless and irresponsible roommate. Having her true love back into her life now complicates so much, as she also copes with a mysterious stalker.

Will Rae's choices keep her alive? Will they keep her with her true love?

Do You Believe In Fate...?
Meeting you was fate... Becoming your friend was by choice... But falling in love with you was beyond my control... "'Oh, good.  Let's do it at my house.  I have some wedding dress pictures I want to run by you...  Or how about this.  'We can go back to my house.  I have some wedding dress photos I would love to run by you...'  Rae which one sounded better?" Raylie decided to entertain Avery's request to go with her to a test reading for a TV show.  She had gone a few times with her before for support, but after sitting in the cold uncomfortable chairs, reliving exactly why she hadn't bothered any more.   Raylie was getting bored listening to her repeat those same lines in ear for the past twenty minutes or so, but it was really trying her patience in the waiting area to hear it from all the other women waiting for their moment to shine. “Rae, I'm so nervous”, Avery said with a jittery tone in her voice. She rested her head on Rae's shoulder, and Rae leaned over and patted her head. “You'll be great. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. You've got so much over these other women sitting here.” Avery and Rae had been best friends since high school, and had been there for one another through the good and the bad and in some cases, the ugly as well. The male s*x had always flocked to Avery, and she ate up all of the attention. She was blond, green eyed, tone, tan, and a bit “enhanced” in a few places on her body. Raylie was the exact opposite. Red haired, hazel green eyed, soft, a little pale, and curvy in all the right places. Even though on the outside of their friendship they seemed like contradictions of one another, in truth they fit each other like puzzle pieces. After the hours of sitting, Rae had watched the clock tick by, hour by hour, until Avery finally heard her name, and immediately stood up and damn near skipped into the office. “Break a leg!,” Rae called out to her. Avery turned back to Rae and held her fingers crossed as she was greeted at the office door and ushered inside. Rae opened her bag and took out her favorite book Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. She had read this book hundreds if not thousands of times. Rae had fallen in love with Mr. Rochester. A torn, twisted man, in love with governess Jane who he wishes to marry, but fails to tell her that he is already married to a crazy woman, who he keeps locked up, until she escapes and burns down his house. Even though his wife is now dead, it never stops how he feels for Jane, who now realizes that she cannot live without him. She goes back to find the house is gone, servants have no place to work, and Rochester is temporarily blind missing his Jane. That was a love that Rae would never have, to have someone fight to want to be with her. That was the reason she constantly read this book. The chair started to lack the comfort needed for a long wait. Rae's ass was starting to go numb, and she couldn't find a good position. There was nothing much in the waiting room, other then the assistant at the desk repeating for those calling in to ,”Please hold”, some tall guy huddled in his chair reading a comic book, and the water cooler making gurgling noises. Neutral colored walls and beige carpet made it such a happy environment. There was no reason to try to look out the window either, because the view was filled with the adjacent buildings brick wall. So as she continued to wait, Rae took out her phone and began to catch up on a few emails. Looking at the time she realized that she had been sitting for close to two and half hours, but Avery never came back out. She looked over at the assistant at the front desk who was juggling phone calls while she was finishing up her lunch. Rae had walked passed the guy still studying his comic and made her way to the assistance's desk. She glared up at Rae over her wire frame glasses with dark cold eyes. Her dark hair was neatly styled but she had far too much make up on, which made her look so much older. She rolled her eyes and put her finger up to Rae's face, indicating that she needed to wait before she would give her the time of day. Only after five minutes had gone by did Rae realize that she was actually on the phone with someone she had s****l relations with, because of the sickening baby talk and promises of bedroom escapades that were to occur later that night. She had finally lost all patience and hung up the assistants phone call. She glared at Rae with an enraged look on her face and said, “Excuse me!” Rae stared her down with her glare, scaring her right back into her seat. It was a family trait of “RBF” (resting b***h face) that had a tendency to scare people. “If he's that hot for you, then he will call you back. But the girl I came in with this morning... Is she still back there? Because she never came back out”, Rae barked back at her. The assistant rolled her eyes, “That blond, she left like an hour ago. She left with them for lunch or something. It was her and a few of the producers. Okay?” With her cellphone still in her hand she speed dialed Avery's ass. And of course, it went straight to voice mail. Rae was so irritated at that moment, she stormed her way towards the elevators. She couldn't believe that Avery had left her sitting in that damn waiting room. Wait, that was a lie, it didn't shock her that Avery would have done this. Avery was an attention w***e and killed for any attention she could get from any and every man that came into contact with her. Rae banged at the elevator button, still muttering “fuck... hell... and shit...”, under her breath. As the doors opened she made her way in and started banging at the elevator buttons again. “Mother fucker... she does this s**t to you all the time... inconsiderate selfish brat!” Rae hadn't taken notice that there was another individual standing in the elevator with her as she meandered under her breath. Only did she realize that he was there until he coughed to clear his throat. “I'm so sorry, but...”, as she turned to face him in mid sentence, she found that she was staring into the most hypnotic eyes she had ever seen. He was practically crawling up against the wall of the elevator as he could be, most likely in shock and fear of her and her bantering. Those eyes of his were amber colored with hints of green, but currently darkened with distress of her entry into the elevator. Briefly her anger subsided, and as their eyes met, her expression softened, “I am truly sorry”, she said trying to put his worry at ease. When he smiled, her heart melted and the butterflies in her stomach started to move about in a rapid pace. She had never been this nervous around a guy, but then, she wouldn't be able to chat with him because Avery would be rubbing herself all over him. His thin lips curled at the edge of his mouth, which made his lip piercings much more prominent. Rae had glanced at him from head to toe briefly, noticing his black boots, black tight skinny jeans, chain wallet, white v neck t-shirt, and a green plaid shirt which really brought out the color of his eyes. “It's okay. I've had days like that”, he responded in a scruffy boyish voice. Rae couldn't help but want to continue to get her frustration off of her chest, and now was ashamed that this hot man would be the brunt of the rants. “Look... it's just, my friend left me here. I came as moral support because of some call back for a part. And I come to find out that she left with the f*****g producers about an hour ago. She left me just sitting there like a reject at gym class waiting on the side lines because no one picked me to be on their team. I just feel like this is like a one sided f*****g friendship. She does this s**t to me all the time! Only thinking of herself. It's so f*****g frustrating. She's an Asshole!” He gave Rae an understanding look, and once he smiled again, she completely forgot what had enraged her. “Well, how about we go for a coffee? There is a place that's right around the corner.” Rae was going to debate, but there was nothing to debate. She should just go with this hot man who was willing to spend time with her, even though she was ready to cut a b***h. This was the best way to get her mind off of the situation. As they exited the elevator and made their way to For Goodness Cakes. Rae was trying to focus on her breathing to calm herself down, as he was attempting to make small talk, “So are you from around here?” Rae didn't want to give too much information, she wasn't sure if this guy was a serial killer or not. “Actually, I'm from McFarland. I moved out here with the selfish bitch.” He laughed, and within the time they met she heard it at least three times, and she felt her panties dampen from the excitement just from being around him. The closer they neared the shop the smell of coffee, baked cookies and cakes just permeated the air. The exterior reminded Rae of a shop she would have seen in Boston. Red brick, black framed windows, and a huge sign above in fancy cursive writing “For Goodness Cakes”. As they entered the shop, the interior walls were brick and covered with inspirational wood blocked phrases like ,”You are amazing!”, “Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much”, “Find Joy in the Journey,” and one of Rae's personal favorites that made her smile, “It's all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits”. There had to have been able twenty or so bistro tables staggered throughout the shop, and each bistro table was reserved for those who were tapping away at their laptops, or charging their phones while taking photos of their coffees and posting most likely to i********:. As they stood aside waiting for their order, Rae glanced around. She witnessed as the women in the building had literally stopped whatever it was that they were doing, and taken a moment to inhale this demigod that stood at her side. She let out a huge laugh, “Do you get this a lot?”, she couldn't help but ask. He looked around, and laughed lowering his head in a bit of shame, “As a matter of fact I do. But it makes me so uncomfortable, and it seriously creeps me out.” The barista was batting her lashes and smiling until the corners of her mouth were touching the ends of her eyes, desperately trying to get his attention as she handed over the order of our coffees. Before they exited, Rae was having a bit of a sweet tooth and bought a danish. As they walked outside, and sat on a bench, she tore her danish in half, and gave him a portion. She continued to lick the icing off of her fingertips and the paper, before taking a bite. Enjoying the sugary goodness that was the danish, she looked over at him and saw him staring. “What?” she asked. He shook his head as she took a huge bite of his part of the danish, “What?” she asked again. He reached over and wiped a little icing she had missed sitting on her bottom lip. The moment his fingers brushed against her cheek, it immediately sent chills across her body He licked that bit of icing off of his finger before taking another bite of his piece. Rae surprised herself as they sat together and had interesting conversation. “So... I see you have a lot of ink?” He complimented her tattoos, and she commented on his lack there of. They talked about his band “Cannibal Lunatics”, and how odd it was that his lack of tattoos was a surprise because he was in a band. She was excited to talk about her tattoo artistry designs and that she only did that as a side job and a hobby. He had talked about his acting career and the fact that things were going slow. Not getting too many calls back and not landing any parts in anything. She mentioned that her big dream was wanting to be a chef. She worked part time at a restaurant, but the place was a dive. But then the conversation started to take a more personal turn, “So this one summer I worked at this restaurant back home. This one night it was me and this guy I was in school with...”, she started to begin, but he cut her off, ”You look like the quiet shy one. Awe, your first kiss at the restaurant.” She rolled her eyes and pushed him in the arm, “Hey now, that wasn't my first kiss a-hole, it was the first blow job that I ever gave. My first kiss was Kendra Morris in the fourth grade,” she looked away briefly as if reminiscing of that moment, as though she was reliving it again. She was basically telling stories in hopes to make him laugh. “That was unexpected! But, okay...”, he laughed as he said. Rae sensed that he was feeling a bit more comfortable with her and their conversation because she was shocked with what he mentioned next, “So there was this girl that I knew back in high school...”, he started to say. “You're not going to tell me about YOUR first blow job, are you?”, Rae inquired. He pushed her arm, “No... my first kiss. The first blow job I ever got was a nightmare. I never want to relive that again.” His comment had definitely stabbed at her curiosity. “You have to tell me now!” He shook his head no. “Oh, come on. Look... if you tell me, I will tell you an equally horrifying personal story.” His eyes were so hypnotic to stare into, she would find herself getting lost, and it took all of her will power to not swoon at his feet. He inched a little closer to her, leaning in mere inches from her lips, “I believe you have a deal.” He paused for a moment, and looked down at the ground, “She couldn't handle me.” She looked at him clearly waiting for more detail that should go along with his statement. “That's it?”, she demanded. His cheeks flushed and reddened with embarrassment, “And she threw up ALL over me.” Rae shook her head, “Wait. So your telling me, that you were too big for her mouth and she couldn't handle “all” of you and she threw up in your lap or something?” He rolled his eyes and nodded, “Yes. That is exactly what happened. It was horrible. I have not found a girl yet that has been able to handle me... completely.” She put her hand on his back and forced him to sit straight up with confidence, “What the f**k? How is that embarrassing is that for you? I can't believe that YOU are embarrassed because of that. Not many men can sit there and say that a woman couldn't handle “their” package. You should be proud of that. Holding you head up high. I've never had that, but I am willing to believe that it does exist.” She could see his feelings about the situation were wavering back and forth. She knew after saying it out loud, that he had straightened up like a member of the royal family. “Okay, so you promised... an embarrassing story.” She took a minute to try to find a good one. “Okay... I have never had an orgasm based solely on penetration alone. I always have to get my fingers involved in there to kind of finish off the job. But I've never had a guy take his time... Even squirting. I've always been fascinated by that too. It's like a myth for woman or something. Or maybe just me?” Rae looked away and then focused back into his eyes which now looked sympathetic. He put his hand on her thigh. “I'm sorry to hear that. I mean... we could...” Rae put up her hand, “Nope, that's not why we were telling these stories for.” The butterflies were still a flutter about in her gut, but after getting out the embarrassing stories to one another, nerves started to mellow. After that point she didn't worry about saying anything stupid, or looking like an i***t. They just connected on a whole other level, that neither one of them had ever felt with anyone else before. They both knew this afternoon wasn't going to last as the danish and coffee were no more, and they were preparing to head off in opposite directions. “You know, I don't think I've had this much fun with anyone in a long time. Even though you did scare the s**t out of me when we first met,” he smiled at her again. “I have that effect on people. Scare you one minute, then put you at ease in the next,” she had to add. “I don't even know your name...”, he tugged at her bag and pulled her closer. Feeling her heart beginning to quicken in its beat, she reached holding his hands in hers, intertwining their fingers. Her chest pressed against his, as his hypnotic gaze froze her into position. “Do you believe in fate?”, she asked him. He smiled but nodded his head, “I believe it was fate that you scared the s**t out of me this afternoon”. Rae smiled at him, “Well, I believe all things happen for a reason. We definitely had a personal connection today, but with what we talked about earlier, I can tell that at this moment neither one of us are in a place for a relationship. And I don't want a one night stand. So...” She felt his grip tighten on her hands as she continued, “If our paths are to cross again in the future, then it was fate that we met on this day. It would be something that will last.” His eyes filled with a look of sadness. “I know one thing... I will never forget you,” he said, making sure that she knew that in case their paths may never cross in the future. His arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her in closer to his body. “This is just in case our paths don't happen to cross,” with that, she felt his lips press against hers. His tongue slid along her bottom lip, and slipped into her mouth ready to wrestle with her tongue. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him in closer. He tasted so f*****g good. His lips were soft, his force was gentle, and as they kissed she could feel goose bumps rise from her flesh reviving the butterflies that had laid dormant in her gut. His fingers were brushing the hem of her shirt, and sliding ever so slowly underneath of it. Feeling the bumps begin to rise on her skin, she found herself wanting to return the sensation, and slowly slipped her hands from his neck to make sure they were now around his waist, and her fingers were dipping under the band of his pants. She craved so much more from him, from so many different parts of his body. Knowing that if she didn't pull away from him now, she would want to do something that she knew she would regret later. As her lips left his, she was able to look into his eyes. He looked disappointed and rejected. “This is so out of my comfort zone with public affection,” Rae took a step back from him, licking her bottom lip in hopes to taste his spit, if there was any left. “Meeting today was fate. And I feel... we became friends, and that was by choice. When our paths cross again...who knows”, Rae leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. “And if it's meant to be, it will be,” he said, not wanting to let go of any part of her, he slowly released the tight grip of her fingers in his hand. Pulling herself away slowly, she turned and walked away from him, thinking to herself that this was either the dumbest f*****g thing she had done or it was the smartest. Turning around one last time, just to get one long lasting look at him.
