It's Monday, the begining of a new work week and not just the begging of a new week for the workers but it's also the beginning of a new school session. The roads are busy with parents taking their kids to school before heading to work and workers finding their way to their respective workplaces. Now let me introduce to you four outstanding children who come from the elite families in the our state Abuja.
First on the list is Arthur Shaw from the Shaw dynasty which is the wealthiest among the elite families, next is his friend Jacob Rodney from the Rodney and co business tycoon. These two have been best friends right from their infant age and have remained friends with nothing coming in-between them.We also have Jeni Caster and Georgia Williams who also comes from wealthy families and have been besties as the female folks call themselves.
It's a new school session and Arthur,Jacob,Jeni and Georgia are going to be classmates for the first time as their first grade in elementary school.Being age mates at six years of age the girls have never liked Arthur and Jacob as they have always viewed them as cocky. But now they were all in the same class and nobody hated it as much as Jeni did,so she took her besties hand and made her sit far away from the cocky Boys in a bid of protecting her friend.Life continues with the daily routine of being dropped in school by parents who barely had time for their kids and being picked from school by their respective nannies except on days where visitation was allow to the respective friends house.
Shirley had just lost her mum and the grief was so much she could barely concentrate on her studies. Her mum was everything to her and her dad,and although they didn't have much they had each other.Well one could say that was until her mum got diagnosed of Diabetes and things became sullen. Her mum tried to maintain her composure on the matter but her dad just couldn't handle the grief as there was nothing that could be done about her mother's case. One day she came back from school so excited that she ran into her mum's room only to be received with a deafening silence except the sounds coming from her dad's sobbing. She reaches out to him asking about her mum but he didn't answer her and that was when reality sunk in.Her mum was gone, she wasn't going to see her mum anymore and most importantly she didn't get the chance to say her last goodbye. The hit from reality was too strong for her that she immediately lost consciousness and regained it several hours later with tears streaming down her eyes. Its been a month already but the grief is slowly eating them up as everywhere they turn they are reminded of the woman whose smile could light up the whole room. Her dad then made a huge decision to move to another city and he chose the city of Abuja.
On getting to Abuja they begin to form theirs lives without her mum and her dad had to work two jobs just to ensure that she could go to school and that there was food on the table everyday.Shirley being a smart kid always ranked top in class and this made her teacher so happy that she told her dad about a scholarship in a prestigious school. She encouraged Shirley's dad to enroll her for it as it will benefit him also.Hearing that her dad decides to give it a try, fortunately Shirley got accepted into the program and is to begin her classes the next school year.
Would this be a new beginning in the life of Shirley and how would she be treated in her new prestigious school?Find out in next chapter.
