My Friendly Romance

CHAPTER THREE

The next few days were not so eventful for Shirley well except for the few times she got snubbed by Georgia who was scolded by Jeni for her actions.One day she needed the help of Jacob because she's been having issues with a mathematical problem and since Jacob was the guru of mathematics in their class she decided to reach out to him.On getting to his seat,she finds him talking with a young handsome boy and from his looks she could tell he came from a wealthy family.She decides to greet them both before approaching Jacob.

"Hello Jacob",turning towards her direction he replies by standing up and giving her a hug.She's doesn't know how to place her reaction so she decides to wave it off.

"Hello Shirley,I thought you would never notice me again"."Why would you say that of cause I do notice you but I haven't really had a reason to approach you"."Oh come on you could have just said hi,I don't bite you know.Or has Jeni and her friend talked bad about us?"."Us?she replied confused about his statement."Oh I'm so sorry this guy sitting by me is Arthur our classmate and my best friend and Arthur this is Shirley" he introduced the handsome rich boy and to Shirley's surprise Arthur gets up and gives her a hand shake saying "it's nice to finally meet you personally I've always wanted to say hello but I just didn't know how to".Shocked by how frank he was Shirley nods her head and says "it's alright and it's nice to meet him".He goes on to say he would really like to be friends with her if that's possible and she says yes making Jacob jump in excitement."You know this is the first time we are having a female friend and so I Jacob officially welcome you to our group please don't get tired of us as we can be a lot to handle" this makes Shirley chuckle at his playful antics.

"So what actually brought you here" It was then She knew she had forgotten to bring up the math problem."Oh I have been trying to solve this equation but I can't seem to get it done"Arthur takes the work and explains it In simpler terms for her that she easily understand the task and she thanked him and left them to continue their conversation.

After the whole conversation of being friends Shirley actually thought they were just playing around well not until the guys started coming around more often and hanging out with her even after school hours and on weekends.They grew closer by the day and they became inseparable.One day she met Jeni and Georgia by the playground in school and decided to stop by and say hello.

"Hello Jeni and Georgia,how are you doing?"Georgia answered angrily don't talk to us you betrayal"Shocked by the name calling she decides to ask what she did wrong.

"what have I done"You ignored us and spoke with our enemy"Jeni answered."What enemy are you talking about?"Arthur and Jacob"Georgia spat.

What enmity are you talking about?Did they do something wrong?Not really we just don't like them. Come on girls they are really nice people and I'm sure you would like them once you get to know them.I doubt that Jeni said.Why don't you join us on our next hangout and decide after that.What do you say?.After much deliberation they both nod their heads in agreement.I proceed to meet the guys and tell them about the plans and Arthur is highly against it but I am able to talk him into it as usual.Jacob usually says I'm the only person Arthur listens to and I do find it hard to believe after all Arthur is the best in my eyes.

At our hangout with the girls everyone gets to understand each other and automatically a bond is made amongst us and we decide to call ourselves the unbreakable five(5) and that was how I became friends with Arthur,Jeni,Jacob and Georgia.
