Saving Her - Forever

Devika's Point Of View:

I slowly looked at the tall figure behind Ranveer. He had shrewd eyes and a deep scar across the right of his forehead. His voice was deep and eyes fixed on Ranveer.

"What say?", He said in his deep voice.

"Rehan, I thought you were a true criminal and not a coward one. Do not attack from behind.", Ranveer said glancing at me.

"As if, Gangster King?", The man named Rehan said with a wicked grin.

Ranveer carefully bent and made me stand.

"Oh! So, you dumped Aarti?", Rehan said with a smirk.

Ranveer looked at me and signalled me to get a gun fast. I nodded quietly as it went unnoticed from Rehan's eyes.

"You are going to die. How do you feel?", Rehan said with the wicked smirk fixed on his face.

"Awesome.", Ranveer replied cooly.

"But I will not kill you this easily. You deserve a painful death, don't you?", Rehan said as he signalled the man at the side to catch hold of Ranveer.

The man came still trembling in fear. Ranveer eyed him continuously as he came and stood in front of me.

It immediately struck me. Nobody was interested in what I was doing. I slowly bent and caught hold the cold gun. Ranveer looked at me and nodded slightly as the man stood in front of him in fear.

Rehan's gun was still at Ranveer's neck.

The man in front of Ranveer stood paralyzed in fear.

"Come on. Do something you fool!", Rehan shouted from behind Ranveer.

The man stood as Ranveer eyed him angrily.

"Ye-Yes.", He said looking down for the gun. I held the gun tightly in my hand.

In a swift movement Ranveer snatched the gun from my hand and pointed it at the man in front of him.

"Where did you get that from?!", Rehan shouted as Ranveer pressed the trigger without much thought.

"There goes one more pawn.", He said as the colour from Rehan's face faded away. I merely looked at the lifeless body of the man who fell in front of me.

By this time many other men arrived looking curious and cruel at the same time.

Ranveer immediately turned before Rehan could react and pulled the gun from his hand.

"Checkmate.", Ranveer said with a smile.

"You swine!", Rehan shouted as he was about to edge in front to attack Ranveer.

Ranveer pointed the two guns are him as he immediately stopped.

"Smart.", Ranveer said as he pushed one of the guns in his trouser pocket.

The other one still pointing at Rehan.

Ranveer held my hand protectively as walked out, Ranveer's gun still pointing at Rehan.

"We run.", He whispered as we walked out of the house.

We ran fast through the woods as the loud voice of Rehan echoed from inside the house.

"Catch them!"

Soon the house was out of our sight.

I finally stopped panting for breath.

"Come on.. we cannot stop!", Ranveer said now standing impatiently.

"I cannot..", I said in a soft whisper.

"Fine. ", Ranveer said with much impatience as he lifted me off the ground in his strong arms and started running as fast and carefully he could.

I only looked up at his distinct and determined face. His eyes fixed ahead. There was the sound of feet from somewhere behind but Ranveer did not look back.

It was not long before we reached the house of the scientist.

He took me in quickly and made me stand. He immediately shut the door quickly.

He fell to his knees in exhaustion.

"Over.", He whispered.

"Thank you.", Was all that I could say as he finally looked up at me.

"I will save you.. forever.. ", he continued, "Because you only belong to me. Nobody else.", His last words reminded me of the fact that I was only his time pass. It was the bitter reality.
