Looking across the room, I saw Tessa curled up at the end of a couch while Blair sat beside her. Roman was leaning against the wall still in a suit. Daemon was sitting on a chair in the middle of the room that faced everyone. Across from him was Haden and Sareia, whose face looked grim. Everyone was injured in one way or another. I couldn't help but feel it was my fault. I didn't like when people fought my fights. Jesse was sitting on the arm of my chair, protectively.
Daemon stared at me. "Well, I've talked to you all separately about our next moves. Firstly, I'm glad we got two-thirds of our objective. We will be going to get Jamie and soon. However, right now we also need to focus first on keeping the girls far away from here. Jesse, you said you had a plan?"
"Yes. Lux and Tessa can go to London and live with my mother and sisters. They'll be safest there and it's unlikely that anyone will consider looking there," Jesse said.
I frowned. "For how long?"
Daemon folded his arms. "Lux, Bloodtrei discovered how to resurrect incubi, we can no longer kill his army. If he resurrected Dom, he can resurrect anyone he'd like. The only thing we have on our side is how long it takes to resurrect someone I don't know too much about it, but I do know that they will take some time. We need to kill him and anyone that sides with him. Bloodtrei wants you Lux. He knows there's something off about you. We all know there's something off about you. You are no simple succubus. You should've been born a cambion, but you're not. Plus you have... incubus-like qualities. We need to further figure out what does that mean and why Bloodtrei wants you so bad. It's more than him wanting you to be claimed by Dominick."
"I say we just take her apart and say what makes her tick, but that's not my choice, isn't it?" Haden snapped, glaring at me. Daemon gave him a look.
Jesse tensed. "I'd like to see you try that. See what will happen to you, freak."
Haden turned to him and cackled. "Your girlfriend is more of a freak than me."
"Haden, stop. She's not even close to what Everen once was," Sareia looked at me and smirked.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well... no one could even get you because you were exhibiting s*x energy as you know. That's not normal. You can harness s*x magic like one of us. A succubus can't do that. We think that's why Bloodtrei wants you," Daemon explained, his eyes narrowing towards Haden.
"That's exactly why he wants her," Roman replied.
Tessa frowned. "It makes sense. Lux, for as long as I've known you, you've always been more powerful than the rest of us. Your s*x drive was never sated in the way you wanted it to be. You needed to be claimed by Jamie, not even to keep yourself safe against the council, but to spare the humans you came across. You wouldn't have control and you would kill them as an incubus would."
I stared at the ceramic tiling and sighed. I knew there was more to me, especially due to my father being an incubus and my mother human. I never questioned it because my father was dead and so was my mother. I couldn't focus on any of that. I had no memory of it all. Flashes would come across my mind, but never of my parents. "So what? We have to watch on the sidelines while you men get to do all the hard work. I want to help. If you say I'm so powerful, let me help."
Blair shook his head. "You're still claimed by Dom. You'll be going through withdrawals from him soon. He's a powerful incubus it's bound to happen. You need to be far away from here when that happens."
"I'll be with you guys for a while before I leave back here," Jesse squeezed my hand.
"It's decided then. This will keep you two safe while we get Jamie. Once we get him we'll have to send him over there as well. None of us will be able to go with him so either Daemon or Haden will do so," Roman explained, "plus I cannot be apart from my girls for long. I doubt Blair can either."
Blair nodded. "As we speak they might be getting questioned on our whereabouts. It makes it even more suspicious that we don't have them with us."
Daemon stretched his body and winced. "Alright so this week we're packing and we'll get a private jet to send of you guys by the end of the week. Lie low and don't be stupid and don't leave this place. I'll be back in two days."
Jesse stared at me and kissed my hand. "Come, I want to show you something." He grabbed my arm and helped me get up. Luckily, I was no longer attached to the IV drip and I was able to walk at a small pace.
I held on to Jesse's arm and he lead me down a hall and into a huge open area that had dining tables and whatnot. "You hungry?"
I stared at him and smirked, "You know that food isn't required."
"C'mon we can do normal things for once. Have some lunch and just talk," Jesse grinned and pulled me to a table.
There were menus on the table and I noticed that there were people in here. Some were sitting in other tables and I saw waiters and waitresses. "What is this place?"
"It's a safe zone for succubi and for some incubi who no longer want to be under Bloodtrei's rules. Many succubi and incubi from all over the world come here seeking solace. It's a school to learn how to train and take care of yourself. This is called the Sanctuary," Jesse explained passing me a menu.
"And Bloodtrei doesn't know about this?" I asked, my eyes wide in awe.
"I'm sure he does and he just chooses to leave it alone due to the fact of the sheer number of people here. If he dared challenged this place he would definitely have a run for his money. I wish this was here a few years ago..." Jesse trailed off and his eyes glassed over. His body tensed up and his grip on the menu tightened, crumpling the laminated paper.
I grabbed Jesse's hands and stared at him. "What's wrong?"
"Ah, just some repressed memories. Rather not get into it," Jesse ran a hand through his hair.
"Does it have to do with that succubus you had claimed?" I asked, seeing how white his knuckles were.
"Ah yes. To some degree."
I nodded, not willing to press him for any more information. Whenever he was ready to open and tell me then I would be there to listen. "I'm sorry."
Jesse leaned back in his chair, "Seres was beautiful. Like you."
I stared at him in shock. Jesse was finally opening up about his past, This was a first.
Jesse stared off behind me like he was remembering something. "Seres was my first claimed. She was a heathen. Just like you. She sated my controlling ways eventually. She was no innocent. A woman of few words. However, her eyes said everything. She was just amazing. It took us a while to get along. My father used to force us to do things. Things that she didn't like but we had to do anyways or we would be killed. Afterward, we would go our separate ways only to find each other again within the house and not meet each other's eyes."
"How did you guys even deal with that?" I asked, staring at him.
Jesse's eyes looked haunted. His silver eyes were becoming red rimmed. "Ah, well perhaps it's easier to show you rather than tell you. Give me your wrist."
I held out my arm and Jesse grabbed it gently. He placed to fingers on my wrist. "Close your eyes Lux."
I closed my eyes and suddenly there was a white flash of light.
Once I reopened them, I was in a corridor. The lighting was dim and it took me a few moments to adjust my vision.
I was standing on the side of the wall. A teenage version of Jesse was standing in the middle of the corridor with a girl standing in front of him. She had long blonde hair that literally was down to her ankles. She looked just like Rapunzel. She was breathtakingly beautiful.
I couldn't see the front of Seres, but I did see Jesse's expression. He looked so forlorn, yet a part of him looked angry.
"Seres, I know this is not what you want. I have to do this. If not my father will kill you and beat me. I cannot be weak," He explained softly, looking around.
Seres just stood there, raising her head a little higher than before.
I walked closer, walking around Seres to see her face. She was striking. Her sharp features added to this otherworldly beauty she had going on. Her eyes were long and a stunning ice blue. Her nose was narrow and sharp and her lips were of a goddess. She wore a long silk white dress that flowed out. She looked like an angel.
"Come. Let us talk. I can't have you leaving my side. You are my claimed," Jesse held out his arm.
Seres sighed. "Very well. However, if you make me do anything I don't want to do and your father isn't around I will beat you."
I followed after them when they walked into a room with a library in it. Jesse and Seres sat in the middle of the room. Jesse started apologizing to her relentlessly, saying he didn't want her to go through any of this and he was sure that she was a wonderful girl. He explained to her that at the auction he wanted to have her before Dominick Petrove took her first.
Suddenly, the room became distorted and time passed. They were older now, sitting in the library. Jesse was lying down and Seres sat cross legged beside him.
"He made us. . ." Jesse sighed and covered his eyes with his arm, "Seres, I apologize for forcing myself in you. I had no control. . . my s*x energy it's more powerful than I thought."
Seres nodded, tears falling down her cheeks. "I know. As you get older, you will lose control more. You're from a powerful clan Jesse. I hear the succubi in the servant's chambers talking."
"My father was going to hurt you if I didn't," Jesse replied, his eyes still covered.
"You stopped him," Seres moved Jesse's arm.
"And it was me hurting you instead," Jesse sat upright.
"I rather you hurt me than your father. At least I know you'll regret it afterwards," Seres grabbed Jesse's arm.
"One day I will have to learn not to regret it. That's when you will surely hate me," Jesse snapped.
"Today is not that day."
The room became distorted and time jumped once again. The room shifted and soon enough, another room returned and it was Seres and Jesse again, but there was someone else in the room. The man was massive. He had long hair that was tied into a bun. He wore a suit that was black as night and it contrasted with his white eyes and red pupils. His arms were folded and he stood in front of a bed that had Seres and Jesse in it. Seres was under the quilt while Jesse was straddled on top of her.
"Take in her lust. If she's fighting you or not wet enough release your s*x energy into her. Make sure you release it into her core. She should be withering under you," The man said sternly.
I walked closer to observe the man and I knew instantly that he was Jesse's father. He was imposing, a force to be reckoned with. Staring at Seres, I saw tears well in her eyes. Jesse thrust into her, his eyes were hard and devoid of emotion. Seres moaned and threw her head back, tears still falling. My heart was breaking. Jesse was forced to f**k her. The time sped up, almost like a movie fast-forwarding. Day turned into night and night into day. Everyday Jesse's father made them f**k. Everyday Jesse looking more and more emotionless.
There was something sinful about the way Jesse moved along Seres' body. It was as if he was telling himself not to enjoy it, as if it was wrong, but there was so much s****l energy in the room I could almost feel it in me. They were both trying their hardest not to enjoy it. Seres looked as if she was fighting not to move her hips in tune with his.
Time slowed at a particular scene, one with Jesse on top of Seres again. However, there was something wrong with this scene. One distinct feature that changed it from the rest.
They moved in rhythm with each other as if they were one creature. She moaned often, surely making Jesse want to screw her brains out more. She cried out again, desperately begging him to go faster and harder. She was a complete lush. The s*x energy he emitted had swallowed her whole, leaving nothing but an empty shell of lust.
Time slowed down again and it was now Jesse standing in front of his father, naked. Seres was in bed, her body bruised and her hair matted with blood. "She wasn't doing anything wrong!"
His father stood in front of him. "You do not raise your voice at me son. She was. She was defying you by crying again. I'm sick of watching the same thing every day. Either you establish dominance or I show you how to."
"You didn't have to hurt her!"Jesse roared, lunging forward and lashing out on his father.
His father fended him off easily, backing up and grabbing his arm. "You are playing a dangerous game and I suggest you end it now."
"I will kill you someday," Jesse glared at his father, his eyes turning fully black.
"And when you do, you will be the head of the Drake clan. You will be a storm than no one can run from. But today you are a drizzle that's merely a mist. f**k her right so I won't have to," Jesse's father let him go and walked out the room.
Jesse grabbed a chair and threw it across the room, roaring in anger. He was enraged and I stood there staring at the broken chair. I stepped forward closer to Seres. She was awake, but she wasn't daring to move.
Jesse grabbed her and held her. "I'm so sorry."
"Jesse. . . f**k me. Right now. I want you to." She whispered softly.
Jesse stared at her with wide eyes. "No, that's not want you want."
"You've been making it feel so good lately," Seres grabbed his hand and placed it on her breast.
"No! I want you to love me for me! NOT my abilities. Seres, tell me you love me," He grabbed her shoulders shaking her in her place.
Her eyes widened, "I don't even know who you are."
Once again a white light flashed and I reopened my eyes seeing Jesse right in front of me. My eyes were wide and I felt tears rolling down them. "You went through hell. You didn't want to be like you father."
Jesse nodded. "However, as time passed, I lost more and more control each day. I soon became exactly like my father, if not worse. Eventually I found a way for Seres to escape. I couldn't control my demon and she never loved me, only the demon and what it did to her. She became sadistic and wanted me to do all these sick things to her. And part of me... enjoyed it. Seres would turn me on while I was doing these sick things to her. She kept telling me it was only right, that it was our nature and what we're meant to do. I knew I needed to stop it.
"So I indirectly helped her escape. I knew she would want to even if what we had turned her on so much. That same night I killed my father. Ripped his heart out. I took over the Drake clan. A few years later, I reunited with Seres again. She was claimed by a wonderful incubus that didn't abuse her and she seemed like she loved him. I was jealous. I was upset that she was happy with him and not me. Plus, seeing her actually love him, it was taboo. I showed her what a real incubus was one night. I took her... and I forced her to make love with me in front of the incubus. I made her c*m over his mouth while she was screaming for me to stop. I killed him because I wanted what was mine.
"I spent many nights trying to get her to talk to me. She hated me, but at the same time, she thanked me. After many more nights, she began having feelings for me. More. More than she should've. I f****d my guilt out on other succubi. Eventually, I just didn't feel guilty anymore. One day I just didn't want to have anymore claimed. I killed, Lux. I killed so many of my claims," Jesse ran a hand through his hair, "Eventually Seres got to me. She broke through my evil outer shell and spoke to my core. I started to change and started to love correctly. She taught me how. Unfortunately, you're not supposed to fall in love with your claim. You're supposed to dominate them."
I stared at Jesse intently. "Did you kill her?"
"Yes."
"Why?" I asked, my eyes narrowing in anger.
"My memories were wiped out for a reason. Roman and Blair knew me before. I used to live in New York. I didn't know. Bloodtrei found out about Seres and I. All thanks to Dominick. My memories are still fuzzy, but I know that Dominick made me kill Seres. I saw the light drain out of her eyes," Jesse looked lethal at this moment. He looked dangerously calm talking about this.
A woman walked up to us and smiled. "What would you like to order?"
Jesse abruptly got up. "I have to go." His gaze was cast down I knew this truly bothered him. He felt ashamed for what did, that was apparent.
I frowned and watched Jesse briskly walk out the room. The waitress stared back at me oddly. "Is he okay?"
I shook my head. "Not even close."
