Matero weakly opened his eyes as he lay in his room, he felt like he was weightless and he had barely recovered his strength. His throat was very dry and itchy too, he tried to call for someone but he could barely do so. That instant his mother came in, she smiled when she saw that he was awake and called for his father immediately. Matero was finally attended to, he received water and could finally sit upright. He could feel his strength was been replenished rapidly, it was bit abnormal. He didn't mind either way, he was glad instead. According to Matero's parents, the lady of light slashed of old Guan's right arm with her bare hands and healed all of Matero's internal injuries on the spot. Local physicians only had to deal with the physical ones and the fatigue. She had also given the instruction that Matero be brought to her as soon as he revived and that was what they intended to do. As soon as he could rise and walk all by himself, Matero accompanied by his dad left straight for the lady's camp. She was actually leading a battalion of elites to hunt down a rebel and she made camp near the Zhao family village. She heard of their screening examination and decided to just observe the young ones, low-key too. Her battalion only contained sixty samurais and they were all elites, none was weaker than Family head Guan. Arriving at the camp, Matero along with his father received a warm welcome, turns out a lot of the samurais were also present at the screening and they had all seen the things Matero did. They were all impressed by his mastery. The two visitors were quickly led into the General's tent where Zhao Xiao, known as the lady of light was waiting. "Matero, I was impressed by your perfomance during the examination and so I had to inquire, who is your master?" Her voice was always soothing, her brown hair and white skin gave off lustre. "I have no master nor teacher, I've received no pointers from any other cultivator." Matero humbly confessed the truth, he couldn't say his pointers came from his old self, that would be too absurd. "I see." Xiao squinted her eyes like she was trying to see something clearly, she moved closer to Matero and even touched his cheek. The latter went red straight away and retreated from her. "Sorry." Xiao pulled back with a smile "You just look very familiar. You can't be him." Xiao's mind flashed back to a legend she still looks up to, a samurai who could be referred to as a god under the heavens. Wasn't his name also Matero? and didn't he look eerily similar to this kid. She shook her head as she waved off her crazy thoughts. That legend is dead, he was gone. This kid is probably a total normal boy, but then he had the potential. How could she tell they were actually the same person. "I was born in this same family over eight hundred years ago and in all my travels, I can see there is no future for a boy of your potential and talents in this place. If your parents will give you to me, I'll take far out of this land's and take you to places where your full potential will be ignited and harnessed." Xiao quickly stated all she could offer, she wanted this young one to grow into a mightier dragon and she was ready to help. Matero's parent were unwilling but after persuasion of various elders, they had to let go of their son. Matero was extremely delighted, he had always known he would leave the confinement of his nation, but he never knew it would be this early. He had been given a chance at a brighter future, with this he can surpass even his previous prime. After roughly a week of preparation, Matero bade his parents farewell and left the Zhao village with General Xiao. She was done with her main objective and was now returning to the capital of the black nation, a city known as Sun City. The journey should take weeks on horse back but the battalion had various flying beasts, some of which had the capacity to bear close to a dozen people at once and in just a day, they arrived at the Sun City. The pride of the Black nation. The City was larger than twelve Zhao villages put together, the population was even more in comparison. Life was different in the city, various samurai forces were always patrolling every where and none of them was lower than the fourth step of the Human realm. Matero along with General Xiao was conveyed through the city streets in a golden sedan. This represented royalty and respect. During the course of heading for the imperial palace, Matero saw various youths and even kids younger than him who were stronger than some elders back in the Zhao family. Only casual city men and women were at the second step of the Human rank, he never met a cultivator, no matter the age, that was lesser than the third step of the Human rank. Xiao had informed him about the various clans and families in Sun City. Two families had reputable cultivation grounds, the Xuan and Shen families, they both controlled various other families like the Zhao family. Then there were also clans, they were not families but they also had cultivation grounds and techniques. The most reputable was the Ring lightning clan that could face both the Shen and Xuan families. Finally there was the imperial cultivation grounds, ran by the masters of the nation and various legends rose from the imperial cultivation grounds, they were unrivalled. This was the Sun City, home of the Nation's lord. Matero couldn't help but shake his head at how monstrous the universe would be if a measly black nation at the edges of the burning continent had so much forces. He didn't care how far he would have to go, he would subdue all powers and be termed undeafeted. "One step at a time." He assured himself, one by one, his next aim was the Imperial cultivation grounds. NB : Cultivation grounds are like academies where culitivators (martial artists) learn and grow in the the cultivation path.
