The match up just now lingered in the heart of everyone and it would do so for a while. Kelena had unleashed almost all her battle power to defeat Matero, but she still lost to the overwhelming battle prowess of Matero.
It was Matero's turn to challenge any disciple, but he quickly signalled he had no intention to challenge anyone. This was understandable, everyone knew Matero had fought the highest amount of matches in the second stage so far. Placing a challenge would only lead him to exhaustion. Haru let out a sigh of relief, if Matero challenged him, he knew he would lose horribly.
The judges fell on to Haru and without hesitation he challenged Titi ranked second. Titi went up the stage with a smile, she had fought Haru times without number and she had always won. Infact, she was the top disciple in the imperial cultivation grounds until Da sun stepped up to the third step of the second realm and overtook her. This was why she had always despised Da sun's arrogance.
Matero payed attention to the matchup, two of the three ranked above him stood on stage and took battle stances. He was certain he could defeat Haru, but was still ignorant of Titi's abilities. He knew he would defeat her in a matchup, but he still needed to study this quiet beauty, who once stood at the pinnacle of the entire Imperial cultivation grounds.
"She has the nick name soft dominance." Kelena who observed Matero's actions quietly explained. "So far you are at the same step with her, you can never break her defense. She specializes in a technique that counters everything with absolute softness."
Matero's ear twitched, he had met someone like that in his past life. Women with such techniques were extremely powerful and always had an advantage over those that used explosive attacks like Haru.
"No wonder." Matero chuckled, Haru can never defeat Titi as long as they were at the same step. Even now, Matero lost all confidence in defeat in Titi.
With the signal to begin, Haru released his aura. It was very similar to Matero's own, the stage shook and Matero was shocked at the powerful release.
"I guess he has unleashed about sixty percent his full battle aura." Matero analysed. "Still it is incredible." Matero's expression turned solemn, he had underestimated Haru's battle strength.
The fierceness and strength of the aura is somewhat proportional to the battle power of the cultivator. Some could totally crush opponents with their aura, that meant a direct hit from them could be compared to the aura. If not greater.
"Eastern kill." Chakra quickly engulfed Haru's sword as he slashed out towards Titi. What startled Matero the most was that the s***h actually made a sound! Every swing was always silent to the observers, only the samurai could faintly hear his sword whistle past his ear, but everyone heard Haru s***h out. It sounded like breeze brushing against one's ears, that was another degree of explosiveness.
"That is one of Haru's best moves." Koi smiled, he had seen the two brawl over and over. The result was always the same.
"The eastern kill, it is a legendary move from heights above the continent." A master analysed. "But this is barely a mimic of the real thing."
Haru was just at an arm's length away from Titi, his sword inched closer and closer to Titi who remained unmoved and somewhat blissful. She didn't even draw her sword, instead she smiled brightly. Matero could sense the power packed in that one s***h, it was concentrated and came with so great an explosiveness. Haru was like a sword himself and he threw himself into that one attack.
An aura suddenly poured out of Titi's body, the nature dazzled Matero. It didn't blast in all directions like most cultivators, instead it poured like a heavy stream and crashed on the incoming Haru. Titi moved, her movements were slow from afar, but Haru couldn't see her move. Then the two collided...
MONITORING ROOM...
EINKO CORP...
The numbers of engineers in the room had barely diminished, Mr Einko was still seated by his screen. Fatigue was written all over his face, but his gaze was closely fixed on the screen before him.
"Sir, the director and twelve other engineers have been successfully sent into the programme." An engineer announced from his seat. "They've assumed the prepared roles and are now working on the mission."
"Wonderful. I also need you all to do one more thing." Einko addressed everyone in the room without moving. "Prepare Einko. I might have to go in sooner or later."
Silence dominated the room, the engineers looked at one another. Some had looks of surprise, some had sorrowful expressions, all in all everyone lost their morale. The project was very successful, everything was progressing smoothly, but a malware generated out of nowhere and now everything was on the brink of collapsing. If this leaked to the rival corporations, chances were Einko corp would be ruined totally.
"Keep me updated every hour about the progress of the malware, what is it's current progress?" Mr Einko questioned.
"Well, the growth rate and power are really alarming. About twenty five percent of the entire programme has been submerged. If the players weren't resistant, the entire programming would have been engulfed. Sir." An engineer analysed from behind her system. "I suggest we speed up our plans before it gets a major hold of the programming." She added.
Mr Einko nodded, he glanced at his screen with hope, an image revolved on the screen. It was the figure of Ben's avatar, Matero.
"We will defeat this menance." Einko voiced out with confidence. "I am certain of it."
"Yeah."
"Yes."
"Sure." The engineers choruses in agreement.
Einko quickly returned to his solemn self as the cheers continued beneath, he fell back into deep thought and the confident look on his face began to erode quickly. Fear lingered in his heart, deep inside, he wasn't sure of his words just now. He just wasn't sure.
