SOMEWHERE IN THE NEURO WORLD OF MYTH...
A FAMILIAR MOUNTAIN IN SIGHT...
A figure could be seen dropping from the clouds, it wasn't in control as it went head first towards the ground, smoke rose from the body and left a trail as it dropped.
"Bam." The body finally dropped. It was Ken who was terribly injured, his sword lay beside him broken, quickly a puddle of blood was gathering around Ken. His eyes looked heavy as he stared at the clouds, tears gathered in his eyes.
Zelu could be seen descending with an evil smile, his attire was barely ruffled, not a mark on his entire skin. He held no weapon and folded his arms, he landed a few feets away from Ken.
"What devil have you become, even at the first sky of the ascended path, I am utterly defeated." Ken could barely speak as blood filled his throat, he could only cough and await a response or an end.
"The ascended path is a level of insects." Zelu shook his head in pity. "I have no match under the heavens, I am certain. I stand at the pinnacle of this world." Zelu let out a laughter. That instant, the sun began to lose it's brightness as thick clouds began to gather, lightning resounded every where, the entire place went dark, it was like an eclipse occurred, followed by a terrible storm.
"Impossible, you mean there are levels higher than all we know?" Ken struggled to ask, he wanted to know the truth, the powers displayed by Zelu were things he considered out of the planet. Zelu was an entirely new being.
"Of course there are, there are even myths about other heights of power that I yearn to attain." Zelu moved towards Ken, a sword appeared in his hand, the black inscriptions on the blade was glowing red.
Zelu got within an arm's length of Ken, an evil smile remained planted on his lips, he stretch his sword towards Ken.
"And with the cultivation path of destiny, I will conquer those that sit above the heavens." Zelu's voice was full of intent, his eyes glowed red. With a cry of agony, Ken slowly turned to dust, from his feet, he gradually dispersed into nothing.
"Well, you will fail Zelu." Ken managed to smile. "I believe the other patriarchs you murdered must have told you the same thing."
"That stupid prophecy?" Zelu laughed hysterically. "I control destiny, don't even think of the prophecy." Zelu was always infuriated by the prophecy against him by the true sage.
"The true sage has said it, even the emperors of our world and beyond fear her words." Ken was just a head now, his body had become nothing and the head was also deteriorating. "You shall fall at the hands of-." The voice seized, the head had completely reduced to dust.
"Sorry, but I can't hear you." Zelu laughed as he turned into a ball of light that shot into the sky.
NEURO WORLD OF MYTH...
IMPERIAL CULTIVATION GROUNDS, SUN CITY...
Matero could be seen seated in a tranquil forest, he took his meditation pose and had his eyes closed. The breeze blew gently and fallen leaves danced around him. This was Elder Koi's personal meditation pavilion.
Elder Koi was a former disciple to the grandmaster, he is the youngest Elder in the entire cultivation grounds and he was well respected across the nation for his talent.
While Matero meditated, time suddenly froze, the breeze stopped and even the leaves hanging on nothing remained stagnant in air. A bright light appeared before Matero and a figure clad in golden armour stepped out of it. Lightning sizzled around the figure and two small flames levitated by it's sides.
It was a much older Matero, he came closer to the younger one who was still seated and tapped his shoulder.
"It worked again." Young Matero said with a smile as he opened his eyes, it was like he was expecting this to happen, like he did it on purpose. Actually he did, because this was "Soul retrieve."
Exploring the boundaries of the soul and it's energy with Kerepa, Matero discovered that he had endless possiblities if he mastered the soul path. One of them was reaching out for his past life, this he believed was possible because he could see that events from his past life had been integrated into the current one. He also discovered it was the same soul that lived through the two lives, it must have had imprints of the previous events still on it. In short, Matero believed he could summon his past self and instill his powers back into himself. Summoning himself as a master in the depth of his mind. It worked.
The older Matero sat before the younger one, a bright light shone in his eyes and the same happened to the younger Matero. Instantly knowledge began to appear in the depths of the younger Matero's mind. This was a technique Matero used to directly transfer knowledge and power to his disciples and now he would do the same for himself. It was like Matero was downloading an upgrade, all the techniques, all the experiences, events and so much more. Everything from the very beginning to the very point of death was becoming a reality to the younger Matero. This was how he unleashed the speed and lightning prowess with which he wrestled Gao.
He couldn't take it all at once, he knew it would take him years, his body would even have to reach some points before he could apply some secrets. That was true, but each time he used the soul retrieve, his battle power increased by leaps and bounds. The Matero currently was enormously stronger than the Matero that faced Gao and he had not even retrieved up to ten percent his previous mastery.
"Wake up Matero." Back in reality, Elder Koi suddenly called out Matero's name. Matero startled awake, he felt a slight head ache as the process in the depths of his mind was interrupted.
"I still have an hour." Matero wasn't expecting Koi anytime soon.
"The master wishes to see you, I guess he wants to inform you about the upcoming world class event." Koi explained as he accompanied Matero out of the pavilion.
"The gathering of prodigies? That should actually be four years away." Matero had to question Koi at one point.
"Well a strange prophecy has changed the date, it starts in a few months." Koi replied with excitement, Matero's lips curled into a smile, how could he forget this event. It was one of the places he met with fortune that changed him forever.
