The Party 1

1280 Words
Andy POV Alexi drove home in silence; I could feel him staring at me worriedly, but I couldn’t bring myself to talk. The thought of explaining everything to him was too much, I know he’s going to take it hard. I’m going to have to talk him down from killing Connor and right now I just don’t have anything left to fight with. We spent over an hour getting ready for the party tonight at the pack house. The alpha and Luna are welcoming their oldest son (our future alpha) back from university. They invited everyone higher up in the pack to celebrate with them. Our father being a beta meant we were at the top of the list along with our parents. I wouldn’t normally attend any pack event, but Alexi had begged me for weeks until I agreed. And unless I want to explain to my parents that I got rejected today, I have no way out of going tonight. As we were getting ready, I filled Alexi in on the day’s events, trying to be as non-specific as possible. To say he was furious would be one hell of an understatement. It took a lot of convincing to stop him from running to the pack house to attack Connor. As much as I would enjoy seeing that, I have no desire to make a scene. Especially tonight, everyone will be at this party, including our parents and the future alpha. The last thing I need is them all witnessing my rejection. “How are you so okay little sister?” he asked me once he had finally calmed down. “I’m honestly not too sure. I guess I don’t have a choice, he’ll be there tonight after all.” I replied as we walked down to find our parents waiting for us. “Time to go kids. You both look amazing! You ready?” our mother said walking, over to us. We both nodded and made our way to the car. We all drove to the packhouse, which took only a few minutes as the beta’s house was always close to the alpha’s. When we arrived, Alexi held his arm out to me smiling. “Ready to go little sister?” I took his arm and nodded as we walked into the pack house. The house itself was beautiful. It was on the edge of a cliff with an amazing view of the Cornwall beaches below us. The Luna went all out for the party and as we stepped inside, I saw the great hall was decorated in the blues and greys of our pack’s crest. Creating a majestic yet homey feel to the whole packhouse. There was a band playing calming music whilst people waltzed on the dance floor. I could see the Alpha and Luna leading the dancing couples. The Luna was laughing happily as her bright red gown flowed around her feet. “I hear the Alphas son hasn’t found his mate yet. Which is rather strange as he’s like, twenty-two?” Alexi said, pulling me towards the dance floor. “Alexi, you know I don’t dance.” I argued trying to pull away. “Just for tonight, little sister, please?” he gave me the best puppy dog eyes he could until I caved and followed him. After the first dance I have to admit I started to enjoy myself. I felt elegant watching as my dress swayed with me as I moved. I was giggling like a child when I heard a growl from behind me. As soon as I turned to see Connor looking directly at me, I ran. I’m not proud of it but, his eyes showed pure anger. I could hear Alexi chasing after me yelling for me to stop but I couldn’t. I needed to be outside. I needed air; I couldn’t breathe. When I reached the garden outside the pack house I stopped and felt Alexi bump into me, obviously not stopping soon enough. “Andy are you okay? What happened in...” he didn’t get a chance to finish as Connor ran up and tackled him to the ground. “How dare you, you stupid mutt. How dare you touch what isn’t yours.” Connor yelled as his fists connected with Alexi's face. I tried to pull them apart, but Connor pushed me away, throwing me against a tree. I hit it with a deafening thud, pain shot down my back like lightning. I tried to get up and stop Connor before he killed Alexi, stopping as I heard growling coming from my side and I saw him lunge at Connor with fury lighting up his eyes. If I hadn’t met the man earlier, he probably would have terrified me with just that one expression. The stranger easily separated Connor from Alexi and threw him to the ground. “What the hell is wrong with you Connor?” he yelled. “Shut up brother, this has nothing to do with you.” He growled back. Wait brother??? As in the future Alpha? Well, I didn’t see that coming, I thought, as this stranger started towards me. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” he asked, putting his hand on my arm to help me up. At the contact I heard Connor growl again. What the hell was his problem? “I’m okay. Thank you for helping me, again.” I replied smiling up at him. “That’s it! I’m done with this” Connor yelled as he grabbed my arm pulling me away. I felt strange sparks at the touch, it gave me chills, but I was too furious to think about that. “Get your hands off of me.” I yelled as I pulled my arm away. I rushed over to Alexi, examining his wounds. “I’m okay little sister, I'll heal. How’re you?” he asked as I bent down. He reached up and brushed a tear away from my cheek. “b***h, you are coming with me.” Connor yelled. I turned to see my stranger ready to pounce again, but I wasn’t taking it this time. He was really starting to piss me off. “Shut the hell up Connor, you don’t get to order me around. You’re rejecting me, remember?” I started to make my way towards him, still yelling as I walked. “Even if you weren’t you had no right to attack my brother. He did nothing to you.” “Brother?” he said, staring at me. “Yes brother, now just leave me alone.” “No. I won’t do that, you need to come with me, you shouldn’t have come here. I told you I didn’t want you.” He said, trying to grab my arm again. “I came because I was invited, you i***t, my decision had nothing to do with you. Why the hell would you even cross my mind? You’ve been hell bent on ruining my life for years and rejecting me. Why would I care what you think?” I screamed at him. I saw him flinch at my words. “Amy, you are being ridiculous.” He scowled at me. That’s it. “My name is Andy you stupid dickhead. You’ve known me for years and you didn’t bother to learn my name.” And with that I walked away. My adrenaline drained as I walked towards the packhouse, and I began to wobble. Damn, I must have hit my head on the tree. My knees buckled and I began to fall, but just before I hit the ground, something caught me. Then the world went black.
