Day Sixty:

Haa... Dawn recalling such events sighed. Even without proof she could tell that the Count fully support Kaiser, and by saying that she doesn't trust him, could also be interpreted as she not trusting the Count. She have already said it to the Count when he ask her, but she couldn't be sure if Kaiser might change the content of the conversation to his liking - such is the way of politics that Dawn knew. People sucking up to those higher than them and those on the high positions mistreating the lower ones. Thankfully though, Memphis Kingdom is not such a place, yet. "Should I apologized...?" Dawn was conflicted as to what to do. Tomorrow they will meet once again, and the same routine would continue or there might be a change to Kaiser himself. There is also a chance that she could get framed for saying such words to him. What Dawn doesn't knew was that someone, hiding in the shadows was listening to their conversation earlier and reporting to the Count at the same time. Such frame up can not happen. "Haa... I should apologized. There might be a reason why he hid himself" Dawn sighed as she thought of the things she would do. She then look at the person infront of her. Her beautiful sleeping face full of innocence, the slow rythmic breathing, and the slightly small hand that held her hand. Dawn gazed at the person - the princess's sleeping figure with kind eyes. With care, she slowly caressed the hair of the sleeping princess. "My Lady..." She muttered. Leaning closer to the side of the bed, she blinked repeatedly, slowly as to not miss anything. There was no one other than the two of them inside the room. Dawn assured by their safety, slowly closed her drowsy eyes as fatigue caught up to her. But before she could close them in full, a vague figure of person appeared in the corner of the room. Dawn thought that she was seeing things decided to close them, but... Clak- Clak- Clak- ...Silent footsteps woke her up immediately. Dawn's eyes blasted open to see a line aiming for her neck. Dawn immediately leaned to the side to dodge the dagger, she rolled towards the princess and took a small knife under her pillow, she went in between the figure and the princess as she pointed the knife at the intruder. "Who are you?!" She screamed, her drowsiness gone. She glare at the person infront of her with killing intent, not missing any movements. "Who are you!!" "..." Dawned growled at the person, but no matter how much she did so, the man didn't move from his spot, he stood their just looking at her-no, Dawn could tell that the man wasn't even looking at her, but to the sleeping princess behind her. It was quite amazing that even with such commotion, the princess have not woken up at all. Dawn could understand why, for someone who have not done anything besides eating, sleeping, bathing and learning magic the training that she did was something that her body can't handle. "...Do you think I'll let you?" Dawn already realize the person's objective, and if she was right... 'This person might be a clue as to what happened at that time!' It was absurd to think that a person (which couldn't be seen due to the darkness of the room) appearing in a princess's room would be connected to an event of the distant past. But Dawn felt sure that it was the case. The culprit was not seen at that time and the princess disappeared aswell, many investigators and knights made conclusions that the culprit kidn*pped the princess, and the princess somehow escaped his clutches. 'And now that the culprit found her again, he would try to silent her to bury all witnesses of that night' Thinking so, Dawn switched to a backhand grip and readied herself. She does not know if she could beat the person infront of her, but she would risk her life for the princess. 'I need to buy time for the princess to wake up...' Dawn after rolling to the princess have been nudging her using her other hand, but no matter how much she shakes her, she does not seem to wake up. She figured that the person infront of her might've done something to the princess, but she couldn't know what. She was not accustomed to magic and hand-to-hand combat was all she knew, a person not blessed with mana, yet an expert martial artist, that's who Dawn is. "I'll ask again... Who are you?!" "N..sy...No...y...Noi..y! Noisy!" "What?" "Noisy! Noisy! NOISY!" "W-wha?" "Shut up! Give me my princess! Why are you coming in between us?! Huh?!" "She's not yo-" "I SAID SHUT UP!!!" Dawn was perplexed as the person-man infront of her spoke nonesense. He didn't let speak and hr keeps shouting and shouting. "AARHH!! Get away from her!!" "She's mine!! She's mine!!!" "Why are you getting in my way?!" The man shouted. Yet for some reason, Dawn felt that sounds were being muffled to a great extent. 'What's happening?' Dawn looked around, wondering as to the cause of the muffled sounds. But when she heard the man screamed once again, she glared at him. 'I should worry about that later, this madman comes first' With those thought, Dawn slowly steo backed from the madman, she pushed the sleeping princess out of the bed, and gently lay her away in a corner. 'I don't know how this madman entered this place, but this is as far as he goes!' "Aahhh~ Why?! Why are you getting in my way?!!" "..." "You should have just died obediently!!" "..." "Aghh... FINE!! I'll JUST KILL YOU AGAIN!!" Dawn didn't answer the madman's questions and just observed his movemens, she was a top tier martial arts user, though her level is not that high, she was confident she could best him in skills. The madman having enough, took out another dagger from somewhere, it shone ominously as the light of the moon reflected on it. Dawn felt fear looking at the dagger that the man took out, she could feel that it was no ordinary dagger. A thought immediately came to her. 'I can't win...' "Ahh~ I could finally have you~ Hukukukuku!" The madman spoke as if it was already over, he laughed not even looking at Dawn. "Leee~ Die!" Crash! The madman licked the ominous dagger then glared at Dawn. Dawn immediately moved away from her place and the madman appeared destroying one of the fancy furnitures. "Leee~" He once again licked the dagger and vanished, he then reappeared behind Dawn. Dawn, not realizing so, was hit. Fortunately she was able to dodge at the last minute but it still left a great wound on her. "Ugh..." she clutched her bleeding shoulder, feeling the stinging pain as blood gushed out from it. "Hee! Hee! Leee~ Die!" The madman repeated the action as he laughed, he was enjoying the torment he was aflicting her. 'I can't find him...' Dawn was in a bind, she couldn't see well in the dark, and the man kept on disappearing and popping-out of nowhere. She couldn't bait the man out as well, as she would have to leave the princess behind. 'Where are the Knights?! Aren't they hearing this commotions?!' "He! Hehee!" "Ugh!" "Leee~" "Agh..." Wounds multiplied on Dawn's body as time passed, the madman was not aiming for her vitals and was just randomly slashing at her, he was toying with her. Blood spurted from her wounds as she moved. Whenever she dodged the other wounds would open up and blood would gushed out. When she was hit, great pain would assailed her body. 'I won't last...' Hopelessness filled her heart, her confidence was shattered to a million pieces the moment the dagger showed itself. Dawn was now exhausted, too much blood was lost from her. She became dizzy and the amount of times she could dodge lessened to a great extent. 'Somebody...' Dawn gave a glance at her princess, she wished that someone would atleast save the princess from this situation. Crash! "Kukgha!" Dawn crashed to the wall as the madman kicked her from behind, the amount of strenght that he put was enough to break a few of her bones. "tsk. Useless" The madman said, boredom filled his voice. He had enough of his toy. Dawn fell face first to the ground as she got out of the wall, she couldn't move her broken arms anymore, her legs limb and broken to an irregular angle. A few ribs destroyed, blood flowed from her, and her illness didn't do well either. Clack- Clack- Clack- The madman went near her, his eyes showed indifference. He was no longer interested to her. Dawn couldn't helped but bit her lips, she knew what's to come next. The madman bend his knees and crouched infront of her, he raised the dagger pointing at her crown. "Die"
