Tia had one dream: leave Lagos, study abroad, and build a better life.

She got the scholarship. She got on the plane.

She did NOT get the life she planned.

In Thailand, her world flips. A dangerous job. No home. And him —

*Professor Alex.* Cold. Possessive. Broken.

The man with rules for everything and trust for no one.

To “protect” her, he takes away her job, her house, and her freedom...

and brings her into his.

Rule 1: Stay in.

Rule 3: Don’t enter my room.

Rule 5: Don’t touch me.

But storms don’t care about rules.

And neither does the way Tia looks at him when he’s vulnerable.

The way he clings to her at 3AM like she’s the only safe place left.

The way one possessive phone call — _“She’s mine. I don’t share my things”_ — changes everything.

Just when the walls between them start to c***k, the past shows up.

Ruby. The girl who broke him.

JJ. The boy who wants her.

And a dinner table full of friends asking the one question Tia isn’t ready to answer.

Tia asked for time. Alex agreed.

*“We’ll take it slow.”*

But slow doesn’t mean safe.

And in a house with no rules left to hide behind...

falling might be the only option left.

*_Some cages are made of rules. Others are made of feelings.

Which one will trap her first?_*

After writing her senior WAEC, she told her parents. “We’ll support you,” her dad said, squeezing her shoulder. “Go chase that dream.” Her mom just smiled and started praying for her. Not long after, Tia was scrolling online when she saw it — a full scholarship to Thailand International University. Her heart raced. She applied that same night. Studied for weeks. Sat the exam with shaking hands. Two weeks later, the email came: *Congratulations. You’ve been accepted.* Her parents screamed. Her siblings ran around the house. They packed for her. Bought her a small suitcase. Ironed her clothes. The morning of her flight, Lagos traffic was mad and then their car broke down halfway. It felt like the city was trying to stop her. But Tia refused. She and her mom jumped into another cab and raced to the airport. At the gate, with her boarding pass in hand, Tia hugged her parents tight. “Take care of yourselves,” she whispered. Then she turned, walked through, and said goodbye to Nigeria. Thailand was waiting .
