Gentle hills wrapped in white, the quaint cottages resembling ornaments on a Christmas tree— they all told stories of laughter and joy from her childhood. But today, they only deepened the weight on her heart. After her recent divorce, Clara had returned to the only place that had ever felt like home, yet it felt. strange and foreign now. The shadow of heartbreak hung heavy over her, menacing her. to choke the joy out of the holiday season. Looking over her shoulder in the rearview mirror, she saw her.
