Forbidden Course

My dream is vivid, a four-year-old me is staring at father's huge hands, hairy knuckles and the scars that cover them. They are cupped together to entrap the creature inside. Giggling with excitement I peek within, a butterfly with amber colored wings flutters for me. I look up at my father in awe, but he's no longer my father he's a shadow a dark shade of charcoal that whispers, “There’s beauty in the darkness Kara, no matter how dark, no matter how daunting, find it, keep it close, and it'll keep you safe” ...... "Kara! Wake up! Kara, you need to wake up! KARAAAAAA!" I slowly open my eyes; there is a sharp pain in my head and I have a strange longing for my father. Someone's still calling my name, the urgency in her voice is alarming enough to bolt me into sudden awareness. I'm on some sort of moist ground, the lighting is dim almost reflective like the light is within the walls. I'm guessing that this is some sort of cave, or tunnel. I don't get a chance to ponder the thought much further; The face of the urgent voice appears in front of me her eyes wide with barely contained fear, it's Julia. Her pale blue eyes as striking as a blue lagoon, her long straight raven black hair is frizzy and unkempt. She's wearing some type of odd training suit it's fitted to her body, she's all curves, mid height, and beautiful. Along with the suit she has knee high black boots and on her hip, there is some sort of short knife, she looks fit for battle. I look down at myself and realize so do I. I'm wearing the same thing, but it doesn't compliment me. I'm all long legs and arms, burgundy wavy long hair, and hazel eyes that are almost completely yellow orange surrounded by a ring of dark green. On my hip, there is also a knife. Panic creeps over me like a cold chill down my spine I take a deep steadying breath and ask, “Juju, what's going on? Where are we?" Her face pales and she blanches I watch as her mind works and she shakes her head in denial as if this isn't real. She doesn't know where we are either she says as much, but I can no longer hear her I'm distracted by the other bodies on the ground all unconscious, all in training suits just like ours but in two other colors as well, and all equipped with knives. There are thirteen unconscious bodies fifteen total including me and juju. We’re separated in three groups of five, each group surrounded by a circle the same color as our uniforms and a word within them in large bold letters. The circle I'm in is green I'm sitting on part of a large 'H', I focus on the letters 'HU'....'HUM'...'HUMANS'? Wait, what aren't we all human? I look at the circle on my right it's light blue, focusing hard I make out the letters 'W'-'T'-'H'-'S'...I try again focusing on the letters I missed there's an 'I','C', and a 'E'.... W.I.T.C.H.E.S, that can't possibly be right. They can't really mean witches like hocus pocus and all that. I look at the circle on my left it's white and all I can make of the letters within is the word 'DAY', what creature could possibly start with the word 'DAY'? I'm about to try again on making out the other half when Juju brings my attention back to her. I only catch the end of what she says “., do you?". "What did you say?" I whisper now afraid to wake anyone up. She repeats herself, "Do you have a note in your pocket too? You don't think it's real, do you?" I look and sure enough there is a note, it looks hand written on a weirdly shaped piece of paper. It reads.... Welcome, You've been selected, as you can see there are three circles separating you by Team/creature Each team has its own respective color: - Green = Humans - Light blue = Witches - White = Day Vamps Although, you are on these teams now there is no guarantee that any will stay the same. You will also see other creatures throughout this tournament nevertheless, only the 15 of you are playing to survive. Do not be fooled every creature is dangerous and it will behoove you to remember that. Through this tournament there will be all sorts of challenges and there is only one main rule 'PLAY OR DIE' Along the way there will be some instructions, hints, and some that will be on you to figure out. This is a mental and physical course, as previously stated you are in teams but not everyone will make it, and nothing is there to force you to stay together. - Who will you trust- - Who will survive- - Who will win- The tournament will commence once everyone has awakened. A red flashing light will signal the five-minute warning, when the light turns green it's time to PLAY. Thank you, for participating in this years FORBIDDEN COURSE.
