Luna of the Golden Moon

Alpha Victor

I sat in the office myself because Caleb was out with his warriors and I had as usual Mark and Tony on the outside, I almost felt sorry for them, they had to babysit me constantly as Caleb was not around, but they had replied that they did it with joy, that it was their duty to their Luna and I felt that this was really how they felt but that did not mean that it was super boring to watch me as I was mostly here and took care of the practicalities around our clan, I had never been good at organizing something but after I became Luna it was as if something had clicked in me.

I was suddenly good at something, I was not a warrior per se even if I could defend myself if I had to but I was good at keeping everything organized, keeping in touch and keeping the herd in check, helping them with their burdens, Caleb had been right the time I talked about being bad at everything in school, I was not meant to be smart or practical , I was meant to lead, help a and fight if I had to which I gladly avoided if I were to be honest after what had happened after the creature.

I had just gone through a small mess of paper about a minor conflict that Caleb had taken care of when he was out last looking for Kyle when there was a knock on the door and I was surprised to hear the growls coming from my two beets standing by the door , they did not want to let in the one who was standing there when I went forward and opened the door and looked in amazement at the alpha of the blood moon flock, Victor.

He looked like any other alpha, he was tall and broad, muscular and had a pair of almost black eyes under his brown hair that lay well combed on his head, he wore a black suit as I still looked surprised, if he wanted talk to Caleb he was not here.

“Alpha victor.” I said it politely but did not bow my head like my beta had to do, I was an alpha and I only bowed to a man, my husband.

“Luna Emilia.” His voice was charming and polite, he had no Luna yet and I understood that he was popular among the females, he had probably already made all the unmarked females here giving him longing looks by that charming smile.

“My mate is not here Alpha Victor, he's out if you're looking for him.” I was about to close the door as he held up his hand as if to show that he was here for me and I looked more surprised at him as the ground and Tony's growls were higher and I put my head at an angle and tried to feel the alien alpha , he seemed sincere in his request to talk to me and no one else when I raised my hand and Mark and Tony became silent, commanded by me, I was the highest, purely technically way I was higher than Caleb.

if you would believe everything what Terrence had said…. I hid that from everyone, I had finally learned to seal my thoughts away, so that alpha victor would not hear my thoughts, no matter how hard he tried.

I nodded as if he could come in and he immediately looked more relieved when I sat down at the armchair and he sat down on the sofa, Mark and Tony stood behind me now, they did not like at all that the strange alpha was here with me, without their alpha, it was dishonouring the whole pack and I called out to Caleb that he would come as soon as possible.

I felt safe with Mark and Tony, they would die for me, just like everyone else in this pack, it was their duty, their honour, just as mine was to make decisions that would be in everyone's best interests.

“Delta Vivian.” I said it out loud when she appeared behind us and I nodded at alpha when she came with the tray with the tea, I smiled adorably at alpha when he looked at me in surprise, he had never met me and rumours of me being a lunatic who was well hidden for the world thanks to my own fears and Caleb's overprotection.

he probably thought I was a trembling girl who barely knew how to control a pack of over a thousand people, he did not know that I was pregnant either as it was not something I or Caleb had shared with others, officially outside the pack.

“so it's true, about your beauty Luna Emilia, I understand why Caleb keeps you hidden within these walls…” he said it amused when he drank from the teacup elegantly that this Vivian had given him when she stood with further back and waited for orders, I knew better, she guarded me with, they all did and et knew the strange alpha with when his eyes swept around the room a lap and looked at me with a wide smile that he found everything very entertaining.

“Have you come to admire my beauty Alpha Victor or was it something that was actually worth my time?” I said it amused by his obvious way of staring at me like I was gorgeous goddess sitting here pregnant and in a summer blouse in pink and a long soft skirt that went down to my ankles in black, I looked the part, even if I refused the whole black outfits the rest of the upper class was using.

“of course Luna, but can it not be both?” It does not feel fair that Caleb can have you all to himself and the rest of us can only see the splendour of your beauty for a few seconds if I had not come here today. He put the cup down and stared into my eyes with his tan-black playful eyes, was this guy really alpha? He felt like me, before I encountered the creature, playful, easily bored and tired of responsibility before it had even begun.

“Caleb is my husband, you are my guest, things are injustice alpha Victor…” I said it amused again when he laughed, I raised my eyebrows, I just needed to know what he wanted, nothing else.

“of course…. we have all heard the story of Luna Emilia, about the two cousins who never met and then found out that they were mates, destined and how Caleb killed his father for you.” I dropped my smile at the end of his summary, everything he said was true, almost and it gave me chills over how quickly our lives together could be boiled down by others, as if there were no other factors to it all, Caleb had not just killed Terrence because he touched me, but it was more dramatic, so I assumed when they gossiped about it.

“You don’t seem to be waiting to continue with the legacy either, one can hope that your son does not take after his father one day…” he said it intended when I started to get pissed and of course my pack members felt my mood making my betas started to growl again warning that he had crossed the line, it was disrespectful how he spoke to me.

“Your purpose for visiting us alpha?” I said it more sharply now as he sat and stared at me again with his hands clasped leaning forward, he listened to me, I was sure of it, tried to hear what I was thinking but I was blank for him, a trick I had learned after I met Terrence, this young alpha was nothing against Terrence’s cunning, I looked challenged back at him with a smile that looked friendly even though my eyes were no longer there.

“of course… of course Luna Emilia, you can excuse my impatience, one of my worse traits I am afraid, fortunately I am attractive enough for the ladies to forgive me.” he looked at me when I raised my eyebrows, he knew what would happen if he flirted with me, no matter how innocent it was.

“Just spit it out for f**k’s sake Vic!” I turned around relieved when Caleb finally stood there, he was wearing shorts, directly from the training session or if he had been on an overview of our territory as a wolf making me gasp when I looked at him and almost had to clear my throat when I turned back gaze to the uninvited alpha on the couch who looked at the two of us and smiled, I did not know if I liked it or not.

“Alpha Caleb.” He bowed his neck for the sake of politeness and Caleb just stared at him, he was angry, I did not even have to feel it to know, he was so overprotective, maybe more than other alphas were with their Lunas, after the attack, everything had changed between us. He did not let go of me, even if I were to beg for it.

“Alpha shithead.” He said it angrily so the other alpha who I thought would get angry started laughing straight out as if he found the insult very amusing and I looked at them both anxiously, I did not like where this was going, we did not need a war with the blood moon clan, it was almost as big as our clan and there would be a lot of bloodshed if there was a conflict between the two alpha males.

“Delta Vivian, prepared dining room for our guest, we do not want alpha victor to leave us and think we are bad hosts, his entourage too.” I said it sweet to her, but she did not need more, she had been with for too long when I smiled broadly at alpha victor, I wanted to throw him after what he had said about me, to my face but if he thought I was a stupid girl who would take away from me that he had said, I was smarter than that.

He stared at me again, but not as long this time and it gleamed in his eyes and I felt how he liked that I was polite, it was probably more important than I had thought which made Caleb's behaviour, to say the least problematic, he was not at all his controlling self as he was when we met, he was the one who followed his impulses now and I the one who tried to control mine.

“I like her Caleb… beautiful and polite and an alpha…” he said it like he knew who I was, and my body stopped from the horror it came with, had I been smart I would have said I was a beta; I could pretend to be a beta, Kyle could have done it all his life so why not me?

“If you know everything Vic, you're stupider than you look, you did not hear? I killed Terrence because he touched her, he was my father so you might understand what I'm willing to do, stay away.” He said the words loud and threatening as his guest got up now and they were the same length, Victor was not Terrence, he looked dangerous now, standing in his pressed black suit.

“don’t threaten me Caleb, I'm one of the few friends you have left after that mistake.” He said it was cold and I felt how all the heat was gone from the room, how the man in front of us stared at my mate, he challenged him just as much back.

Mark and Tony moved with me, in front of me, so I almost did not see the two alphas in front of me, they seemed more prepared to protect me than to put themselves in the battle in front of them that seemed to be on the way, honestly so they probably would not have a chance against Alpha Victor even if they would surely try, he was an alpha so he would win even if they were two against one.

“Enough!” I said it out loud as they both stepped back at my order, the one who called them to obey, I never used it on Caleb otherwise, I didn’t want, I was happy to be a Luna.

 I did not want to be the one who carried the whole pack on their shoulders, that burden was his but now that they both seemed to want to kill each other I had no choice.

“How the hell…” alpha victor looked at me more shocked than anything else when Caleb was red with anger going through his body, he was not used to being told what he was not allowed to do, not since Terrance's death.

“It seems like you do not know everything Vic…” Caleb seemed to swallow the anger when I looked at him with my big blue eyes, wanted to make him stop, how smart would it have been to fight in here, with me who was pregnant? I stared at him until he had calmed down and looked at me with forgiving eyes and I nodded briefly and smiled warmly back as his eyes were loving again where I sat still and had the two betas in front of me still who relaxed a bit of how the atmosphere was lighter in the room, but not quite.

“I'm starting to understand it Caleb… but seriously how?” he looked at me when I just smiled kindly and did not answer, I had nothing to say anymore, I was just the Luna, and my Alpha was here now.

“You don’t want to know…” Caleb said it tired but smiled when he looked at me and had his hands relaxed on his hips now, the energy was so different compared to three minutes ago before I had ordered them to stop.

“Your purpose alpha?” I said it again when the surprised alpha looked at me again and smiled brilliantly as if I had not made him obey just a few minutes ago when he sat down again and corrected the tie as if there was something wrong with it, it wasn’t, it was flawless as when he came in and Caleb ordered out Mark and Tony who stared angrily at the strange alpha but not in his eyes and closed the door behind him not at all happy to leave us, me without supervision, they were loyal and protective.

“I'm going to be straight to the point Caleb and dear Luna Emilia.” He looked at both of us as Caleb sat on the side of the arm of the armchair, hiding me as much as he could without it being too obvious, but that was it.

“Your sister, Melody…” I looked at him suspiciously, he said her name very tenderly, as Caleb said mine and I already began to suspect that he was here for more than just a courtesy visit.

“What's about her? Is she in danger?” Caleb sounded calm but he was upset again and I put my hand on his leg and my head at an angle when alpha victor got a badly hidden smile that revealed everything to me, an advantage of being Luna, I looked at people what they felt, how they felt and why.

“She is his mate.” I just said it calmly and smiled at the surprised alpha who did not seem to understand how I had figured it out and Caleb sighed as if it sounded like more work, that was it. the complicated things, a lot. She was already married to Brad, and I assumed he had marked her by now.

“So, my sister is already married, with your beta, your first beta if I remember correctly… why did not you say something? You've seen her before, some of you must have known about it, I knew it as soon as I saw Emilia.” I smiled stupidly at his answer, and he smiled quickly at me, reassuring as Alpha victor looked more nervous as if he knew it.

“I have known about it, she does not know it though because she is not eighteen yet…” he said it as if it would explain everything, but it explained nothing, he knew even if she did not, why had he not stopped the wedding?

“Me and your father… we agreed that it was best that we did not play those cards, or I was stupid enough to listen to the manipulative bastard and now I have to see my mate being with my beta, which is stupid enough not knowing about it either, that he has my Luna!”

I sat quietly, its could be dangerously fast, I knew how much Caleb was protecting me, he would never allow another man to even sit near me, not marry someone else, Brad would be killed, and I already knew that on alpha Victor's face that had already revealed that he had thought about it, so many times that it would become a reality if Caleb did nothing about it.

“So… what did you get for sacrificing the only woman you will ever want, who will die a slow painful death from the rejection of her?” Caleb's voice was steady, he was so pissed, it was still his sister, his naive playful sister who had called him a bore and I was sad even though I had only met her once.

“I never thought it would feel like this Caleb! I did not feel like this then, but now that she's about to turn eighteen, I'm going crazy and every time I even see Brad touch her… I'm grateful he's alive, for the moment at least…”

He sank down on the couch, he looked like he wanted to die, I recognized every feeling in his face now, I had lived it myself and my sympathy flowed through me now as I looked at the broken alpha in front of us.

“This is your fault, Victor! Your f*****g mistake! Say what the hell am I going to do to solve it!? Beta Brad is her husband; he must have marked her by now!?” Caleb spat out the words now when I looked at them both, I saw no way out of this either, it was hopeless.

“She hasn’t let him do it, so she must feel me, far back in consciousness she knows that her mate is close and that the man she is with is wrong.” Alpha victor looked more relieved when he said that when I did not understand what he needed us for, especially me.

“What do you want from me?” Caleb just said it straight out tired when I nodded in agreement, he could only say what he wanted all the time.

“Take him off me, I will not be able to keep away and if she feels the same for me….” he looked at me as he wanted confirmation when I smiled secretly, oh she would feel it with, no doubt about it…

“You want me to save you from your own first beta?” Caleb actually seemed to start laughing now and I grinned, it was pretty funny, what a smuck Alpha Victor was.

“Baby… what do you say?” He looked at me now where we stared at each other lovingly in front of the stressed alpha, I did not know, Melody would suffer if he did not help… but he did not have to do it without making a profit, Alpha victor was obviously desperate.

“you're so smart Luna.” He said it out loud and I smiled lovingly back at him, my alpha, my husband, my everything. I always had something special in my eyes when I looked at him, something that no one else could get from me.

“Fine. I'm take your beta…”. He stopped when Alpha victor looked relieved before solidifying as if he only knew there would be counterclaims.

“If you give me your promise as an alpha over your pack that you will treat my sister well, and that she will be able to lead with you, not just be your background.” He said it seriously as I smiled proudly at him, it felt like he was really going to change everything, my brave alpha.

“If you have a first-born daughter, let her be alpha. He said it even more seriously when I think the alpha victor's limit had been reached, that he would refuse but he nodded as if he would give everything, he had to get melody, the bond was hard to deny, damn hard.

“I want to visit.” I said it happily when they both looked at me and alpha victor smiled broadly at me as if he loved the idea, he liked me, I already knew.

“Give me Beta Brad.” I said it openly when he looked at me as if he had heard right, he had tony and land, I could take bread, he could be my beta, if Caleb let me do it, so to speak.

“I don’t think it's a good idea Emilia, you will meet Melody more often if she is the Luna for the blood moon clan, she will probably not feel so bad about it as I know I forgot everyone else when I saw you baby, but he will not have forgotten her…” I looked at him resigned, he was right, it would be selfish, I had a hard time understanding how I would feel if I had to see Caleb but someone else, but we had our bond, it was strong, so much so that it drove the alpha Victor insane.

“If she even wants to see me…” I said it sadly when Victor looked at me as he knew more about the matter, and I looked curiously at what he knew about what Melody felt about everything.

“She is angry Luna Emilia, you killed her father, what would you have felt if it was your father who died because your brother and sister-in-law wanted power?” I looked at him in shock and then at Caleb’s guilty face, he already knew.

Were that what people thought of us? That we were power hungry and terrible?! I probably looked devastated because Caleb was pissed again as he had known about it all along but had not said anything to me, wanted to spare me from the horrible truth.

“I told you to shut up Vic, Emilia is pregnant, she does not need more than we already have!” He hissed the words and they looked sour at each other again as I cried now and they both turned their attention to me and Caleb's gaze was soft now as he sat down on his knees in front of me and kissed my hands, looked at me begging me to forgive him for hiding the truth from me.

“So, everyone thinks we're some killers who was just looking for power? I did not even want to be a Luna from the beginning?” I said it a little angry now, how did other packs dare to accuse me of all being power hungry, I did not want anyone to die, it was this f*****g political game and the rules that had triggered Terrence's death, nothing else.

“I killed him Luna, not you. It's my fault.” Caleb's eyes were yellow now when I sighed and ignored Victor who was studying us where he was sitting, he probably did not know what to think about why Terrence was dead, the only ones who knew anything about it were me and Caleb.

“But I didn’t stop you, and I was happy when he was dead.” Mine were golden green.

I said it honestly, if nothing else he had killed my parents and I was happy that he was dead, even though he had shown who he was in the end, it had not weighed up with what he had done to me, to everyone under him.

“you will see later Victor, that there is nothing you will not do for your Luna, nothing is too much, too awful, if you think the bond is hard to resist now, imagine then when you have been with her, marked her, felt her under you…” Caleb looked at me with his warm gray eyes as he said everything about how it felt and I could only agree, he had no idea what it was doing to you. changed you and what you fought for.

“You have my word Alpha Caleb, that I will stand with you if you take my beta and let me have my own Luna, that's all I ask.” Victor looked at us both now when I nodded lightly, it was not even a choice, Melody would suffer if he did not do something about it, and even what she thought of us we were not monsters, we were just two people who were meant for each other who fought against all who were against us.

“I promise.” He said it heavily as if it was not the easiest choice to make, I understood of course that there would be consequences of our actions, it always was, but the bond could not be broken, whoever tried, that was probably why I had received Caleb’s attention as a mere Delta.

“It would not have mattered if you were even an omega Luna, I would have chosen you anyway.” He said it out loud and I smiled a little better at ease, this was going to get worse before they got better, that was one thing for sure.

“I take my goodbye here alpha and Luna of the golden moon.” I looked at him as he walked and then at Caleb, I hoped this was the right choice, not only for us but for his sister, but I could not imagine that she would not understand later, when she turned eighteen and the band came between her and Victor, I prayed to the goddess that he would treat her well.
