Elaris's POV The taxi finally turned into Brookhaven just after noon. The farther we drove from the city center, the quieter everything became. The luxury hotels disappeared, replaced by familiar apartment buildings, corner stores and little cafés where people knew one another by name. The radio was still quietly discussing the wedding.
