A Chance

We unloaded the shopping I started putting things away, our mom’s came about 20 minutes later. I started cooking things and getting all of the BBQ food ready for tomorrow.  Rishi put some music on and I started singing and dancing in the dining room whilst our moms were in the kitchen. I swayed my hips and putting things onto skewers. Rishi laughed at me and I stuck my tongue out at him. His phone rang and he scowled.

“I’ll be back in a sec” he walked out of the room and I carried on dancing. About 20 minutes later I felt hands on my hips. I leaned back into Rishi and he pecked my neck.

“Stop our parents are literally right there” he groaned

“This is why I have my own house” I rolled my eyes and finished what I was doing.

The next few hours passed by fast we finished making all the food all I had to do tomorrow was a few jobs here and there and decorate.

Our moms left and I reminded mom to bring the cake tomorrow. I finished cleaning and headed upstairs.

I walked into Rishi’s room and he was staring at his laptop. I backed out of the room and lay down on the sofa, I glanced at the clock it was 9pm.

I closed my eyes falling asleep instantly.

I woke up to Rishi shaking me softly, “Babe wake up” I opened my eyes groaning.

“What time is it?” I mumbled.

“It’s half 10 we haven’t had dinner” my stomach growled and he smiled. He pulled me up and we sat at the dining table.

“Aw thank you, you didn’t have to” he made dinner, it was a cute homey meal. Bangers, mash and veg.

We ate quietly and I yawned, “How come you didn’t come upstairs” he asked softly.

“I did but you looked busy and I didn’t want to disturb you” I cleaned up and we headed upstairs.

I changed into my Pjs and slid into bed, Rishi flicked on a movie and we talked for a bit. I glanced at the clock at it was almost 12. I jumped out of bed and got my bag.

“Close your eyes”

“Why?” he asked

“Just close them please”

“Ok now open. Happy Birthday Rishi” I have him the box and he smiled.

“You didn’t have to get me a present. Thank you” he leaned forwards and gave me a quick kiss.

He opened the box and pulled out the first little present, he opened the box and smiled.

“I love it” it was a watch I went into town and picked it out. He took his old one off and slipped it on. “Perfect, my old one was getting a bit rusty”

He pulled out the second box and he opened it. “Wow”

“They were my granddads he left a pair for me and my sister. He said give them to the person you will spend the rest of your life with and it will remind you that I am always there with you” I teared up a little I missed him so much.

“There amazing, this means the world to me” he smiled at me.

“This last one is just a bit of fun” he opened the box and pulled out the photo frames. One was a picture of him and his parents. One was a picture of his whole family and one picture was of me and him. All taken at the wedding. The last one was a picture my dad took when he came to see me.

“They are perfect, I needed some pictures in this house” he placed the one of me and him on his bedside table and the rest on the desk near his TV. “Now whenever I open my eyes I will see you. Thank you so much Rosie, I really am lucky to have you” I teared up and hugged him.

“I’m lucky too” He kissed me softly and we lay down and drifted off to sleep in each other’s arms. 

I woke up just after 8am, I slipped out from Rishi’s arm and tiptoed downstairs. I blew up some balloons being as quiet as possible and strung up some banners. The house looked perfect, I walked outside into the garden and did the same. When I was finished it was nearly 10am, I grabbed a party popper and walked upstairs.

Rishi was still fast asleep, I walked over to him and pulled the popper. “Happy Birthday” I screamed he jumped and sat up. He blinked and rubbed his eyes, staring at me. I straddled him and planted a big kiss on his lips. “Happy Birthday Rishi” I pulled back smiling at him.

“Thank you beautiful” he pulled me closer hugging me and kissed my neck. I moaned and he pulled away.

“Today is going to be perfect. Now let’s get ready the boys will be here soon to start up the BBQ. All the guests will be here at 2pm latest. Cut the cake at 4pm and then party the rest of the day. I was going to ask, do you have a speaker?” he kissed my neck again and I giggled.

“No babe I don’t”

“Yayyyy, I can get mom and dad to bring my baby”

“Your baby?” he asked

“Yeah I got this speaker, it’s as big and it’s my favorite thing. Anyway don’t worry about that, I’m going to shower and then get ready” I pecked him again and walked off towards the bathroom.
