A Chance

After dinner we all sat down in the living room, I continued to talk to his parents and he spoke to mine. He got up and sat next to his mum and whispered in her ear and my mom pulled me out of the room.

“What do you think?”

“He’s sweet, seems very polite and his parents are sweet too but do you think he’s going to say yes he’s a lawyer, I’m just me. It hurts being rejected its happened so many times I don’t think I can do it anymore mom” I let a tear slip from my eye, she wiped it away and smiled.

“I think this one will be different” we walked outside and joined Rishi and his parents I sat down on the swing and so did he.

He pulled out a little box from his pocket and opened it up. My heart started racing and I looked at him.

“I think you’re beautiful and you seem like a good person. It’s a yes from me if you would agree to marry me I would be the luckiest guy in the world” I looked at our parents and back at him and the ring. I nodded slowly my heart leaping out my chest. He took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto my finger. The ring fit perfectly like it was made for me, our parents took pictures and he kissed the back of my hand. We took our blessing from our parents and they smiled blessing us.

After everyone calmed down Rishi and I were left alone,

“Thank you” I spoke quietly

“I am 100% in this I want this to work, I need a girl like you to complete my life. Give me your phone for a second” I handed my phone over and he typed in his number and saved it as a ring. I smiled and he bent down to kiss my cheek.

About 20 minutes later they were about to leave, I said bye to his parents and helped his mum into the car, he walked over to my parents and I and smiled.

“Mum said to ask, it’s my friend’s wedding on the weekend. Could I take Rosie?” he asked my dad and he nodded smiling.

“Thank you, I’ll text you the details. Bye” he gave me a quick hug and got into his car smiling he waved and his car disappeared into the distance.

I cleaned up had a chat with my parents and headed to bed, I text my brother and sister to tell them the news. I changed into my pjs and collapsed on my bed. My phone chimed and I picked it up.

Rosie – Goodnight thank you for saying yes xxx

I put my phone down and glanced at the stunning ring on my finger, it was gold plated with a flower design and a diamond in the centre. I fell asleep with a smile on my face hoping I would finally get my happily ever after.
