We all walked over and took our seats, the ceremony was beautiful but all I could focus on was Rishi standing up there. My brain was full of pictures of Rishi and I at our wedding, I was wondering if I would be as happy as Jaz and Kiran look right now.
Everyone moved into the room for the reception and I took a seat with Rishi’s family Rahul was crying and Ria was desperately trying to calm him.
“Hey do you want me to hold him for a bit, you look tired” I spoke
“Yes please if you don’t mind this chunky monkey is getting heavy now” she smiled handing him over to me. I picked him up and he put his head on my shoulder, instantly quietening.
“Wow you’re so good with him, you better get used to it” Ria laughed.
I walked around bouncing him a little and he fell asleep on my shoulder. Rishi walked over and put his hand on my waist.
“Are you alright” I nodded at him and he smiled “He doesn’t usually go to anyone” I looked at the little boy on my shoulder and smiled.
“I love kids there adorable” he smiled and Ria grinned at us.
“You’ll be having your own soon” she laughed.
“Give Rahul to mom, there doing a couples dance” Rishi’s mom took Rahul and we all walked over to the dancefloor. Music started and the bride and groom had their first dance. I watched in awe and I glanced up at Rishi, his hand was on my waist and he pulled me closer.
“Thank you everyone for coming to our wedding we do hope you will enjoy yourselves. So to make this a bit more fun we are going to play a game. Each couple will stand on a piece of paper and dance each time the music stops the paper will become smaller. If you step off the paper you lose. So all couples on the floor please” Kiran spoke.
Everyone walked onto the floor and Rishi pulled me with him. We stood on our piece of paper and we had plenty of room to move. His hand were on my waist and I had my hands on his shoulders the music started and we swayed slightly.
“You look beautiful” Rishi spoke, his hand bushed a stray hair behind my ear and he smiled.
“Thank you, and thank you for bringing me here I’m so happy to meet your family and friends” I smiled at him.
The music stopped and our paper got smaller, we were closer together my chest touching his, our feet barely apart. His hands on my waist pulled me closer so I couldn’t move. His eyes were trained on mine, my lips parted I was thirsty.
The music stopped again and our paper got smaller again. He lifted me up and put my feet on top of his, “Omg” I squealed.
“Your light as a feather don’t worry” he laughed I was not light I was a size 14 curvy girl I was a bit chubby but I was happy with my body.
“I am not light” I laughed
“You’re perfect” the music stopped again and this time there was only room for one of us. I looked up at him confused.
“How are we going to do this” I looked around at the rest of the couples, there was only us the bride and groom and Rickesh and Rena left.
Rickesh and Rena gave up and I looked back at Rishi. He lifted me up bridal style and my arms instantly wrapped around his neck. “See light as a feather” he laughed.
He looked down at me and smiled, his eyes looked into mine as he slightly swayed from side to side. The crowd cheered at the bride and groom and I forgot this was a game.
“I stepped off on purpose, couldn’t let the bride and groom loose” he winked and set me down. I started clapping with everyone else and Ria and Rena were giggling at me.
The rest of the wedding went by slowly, I dance with his family and spoke to his friends. The wedding came to an end. I said bye to his family and friends and we walked over to the car. I slid into the passenger seat and Rishi sat down next to me. I glanced at the clock it was 12 am.
“I didn’t realise what time it was” I spoke and yawned.
“I was wondering do you want to come back to my place” I glanced up at him and bit my lip. Should I. “Just because it’s late, you look tired and it’s closer”
“Yeah sure” I smiled and text mum.
