The next morning I woke up and started getting ready I showered, put on the slightest bit of make up on and slipped on a really simple pajami suit. Dad started driving to the temple and I was feeling anxious. When we got to the temple Rishi and his parents weren’t there yet. I went up to the front placed some money in the box and knelt down to pray. Please god, let this work out give me a sign or something to say this is the right thing for me. I just want to be happy and make my family proud. I opened my eyes and Rishi was knelt down next to me I stared at him for a second wondering what he was praying for. He opened his eyes and smiled at me. We both stood up and made our way around the temple praying to all of the gods. We joined our parents with the priest and sat down. The priest blessed us and started reading our teve. We sat quietly and Rishi held my hand he squeezed it softly and I smiled at him. The priest smiled and spoke. “Your stars match perfectly, the best time for the wedding would be in four months or the next time will be in two years” “Four months is fine” Rishi’s parents spoke. I looked at them shocked. “But there’s so much to do” my mum spoke. “We will manage, I want to marry you as soon as possible I don’t want you to slip away” Rishi spoke, my heart leaped a little but something in the back of my head was telling me something was wrong. Our parents Rishi and I all spent the day booking a venue and organising a guest list. I already knew what I wanted for my wedding I had been dreaming about it since I was little. I would go shopping next weekend for my outfit with my sister and brother who were yet to meet Rishi. After dinner Rishi and I were sat talking about little details about our wedding. “I will pick you up tomorrow morning at 8am the wedding starts at 9am but I’m one of the groom’s men so I need to be there a little early is that ok” “Yeah thank you for inviting me” I kissed his cheek and he walked out the house. The next morning I woke up early, I was nervous I was about to meet all of Rishi’s friends. Some of his family were going his parents and his two older brothers who I had yet to meet. I showered and did my hair and make-up. I kept it simple going with a slight gold eyeshadow and simple nude/pink lipstick. I put on my purple lengha and put on some statement gold earrings and Tikka. I grabbed my purse and checked myself in the mirror before I headed out. The doorbell rang and mum answered, I walked down the stairs and Rishi was smiling up at me. His blue suit fit perfectly he had a white shirt on and a pink tie. His hair was pushed back and his dimples deepened when I got to the bottom of the stairs. “You look wow” he gulped and I smiled “Thank you, you look amazing too” he took my hand and I said bye to my parents. I slipped into the car and Rishi kept glancing at me. “You will meet most of my friends there, and my brothers will be there too and their wives and kids. Jaz and Kiran the bride and groom are my friends from when I was little our families have known each other forever so were more like family”  he stopped the car and fixed his tie he looked over at me and smiled. “Thank you for coming with me” he kissed my cheek. We got out of the car and walked into the hall there wasn’t many people here yet. The room was set up with the bedi and he walked over. “About time you showed up” the groom laughed. “Jaz this is my fiancé Rosie. Rosie this is my best friend Jaz this is his brother Kyle and my other friends Ricky, Mani, Pav and Karan” I said hi to them all and we had a quick chat, “Their girlfriends are here too I’ll introduce you to them and then I’ll have to go help with a few things so I’m going to have to leave you for 10 minutes or so if that’s ok” I nodded nervously, we walked over to the group of girls and I smiled at them “Hey guys this is Rosie my fiancé, this is Ricky’s girlfriend Mia, Mani’s wife Sim, Pav’s girlfriend Priya, and Kajol Karan’s fiancé. I’m sorry to do this but I have to pop out I’ll be back soon” he kissed my cheek and walked away quickly. “You’re so pretty your outfit is stunning” Priya spoke “Thank you, you girls look amazing too” we all started chatting and they all seemed like really nice girls. About 20 minutes later Rishi came over and smiled, I said bye to the girls and we walked over to his family. “Hey” Rishi spoke I said hello to his parents and turned my attention to his brothers. “Rosie this is my oldest brother Ravi and his wife Ria and their son Rahul and this is Rickesh and his wife Rena” “We’re going to be sisters” Ria squealed, she pulled Rena and I into a hug and I smiled. “You both look amazing” I complimented them. “Thank you, still got a bit of baby weight” Ria glanced over at her son. “You look stunning too” Rena complemented me. Rishi had gone back to the groom and the ceremony was about to begin.
