CHAPTER EIGHTEEN My eyes fluttered open when I felt a warm, faint touch on my cheek. I frowned and tried to push it away, but stopped myself when I realized that it was sunlight that was streaming through the gaps in the walls. I yawned and stretched my body lazily on the bed. Despite the circumstances, it felt so good to be in the comfort of a bed once again. The room was getting stuffy, so I sat up on the bed and moved to the edge. I let my feet wander to the ground and rose, ignoring the grunt from below and the way my body swayed against the odd unevenness of the floor. The ground felt unsteady beneath my feet but me being so lazy, I just gripped the wooden frame of the bed and trotted over the rough surface of the ground as I made my way to the window.
