4Too LateNothing happens. No rush of sounds or sudden movements. I shield my face from the glare and scan the open walkways lining the interior wall of the room. They’re empty and still. If an Unseen is waiting up there, they’ve had plenty of time to make a move. I wave to Jayce. She hurries to me, lips pinched in a line. “That wasn’t smart at all,” she growls. “Probably not,” I retort. A familiar scent sends up a flare in my memory. Lucas. My stride lengthens.
