LENA'S POV
Pain.
That was the first thing I felt. A dull, throbbing ache that wrapped around my entire body like a vice, making it hard to breathe.
I blinked against the bright, sterile lights above me, my vision was swimming hysterically. The air smelled like antiseptic and something metallic—blood?
Where was I?
I turned my head slightly, and a wave of nausea rolled through me. My limbs felt heavy, my throat felt sore, as if I had been screaming.
Then—
Sienna .
I felt out of breath almost immediately.
She was alive.
I had seen her. She was standing there, watching me with those her cold blue eyes.
“No,” I whispered, while my heart pounded through my ears.
It hadn’t been a hallucination. I knew what I saw.
My sister wasn’t dead.
They had framed me.
But why?
Like an answer to the question I just asked, a slow, sickening realization settled over me.
Sebastian.
He had called me a murderer. He told me I deserved this.
Had they planned this from the start?
I forced myself to sit up, but the moment I moved, I felt a cold and heavy clank against the bedframe.
I froze.
Chains.
Thick, iron chains were wrapped around my wrists, locking me to the bed.
What kind of police used animal restraints?
And then a heavy pain moved in my lower abdomen.
I winced, pressing my hand against my stomach. Something felt wrong. And serious panic began moving across my throat and body.
The door creaked open.
A man in a white coat stepped inside, and his expression was poker faced.
“You’re awake,” he said.
I swallowed hard. “Where am I?”
The doctor didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he picked up a clipboard from the table beside me, clamly flipping through the pages.
“Your body is in stable condition,” he said.
Relief flooded through me for half a second—but then I realized again that was chained, so why am I calm.
Then he spoke again.
“But the stress took a toll and wrecked havoc on your womb.”
I froze at his words but he just glanced at me with his expression carefully blank. “You lost the baby.”
Everything thought in my head stopped moving and air left my lungs.
“What?” My voice came barely audible, as if I was whispering.
The doctor set the clipboard down. “I’m sorry for your loss.”
No.
No, no, no.
I hadn’t lost my baby.
I had been protecting them.
I had endured everything, kept the secret, fought to stay alive for them—
And now they were gone?
I gasped, clutching my stomach.
Empty.
I was empty.
A sob ripped from my mouth. “No! No, please, tell me you’re lying!”
The doctor remained silent.
Hot tears began to pour down my face.
My baby.
My child.
Stolen from me before they even had a chance to live.
And I knew who was responsible.
Leo and Sienna.
They had done this to me.
They had ripped my baby from me.
An uncanny rage unlike anything I had ever felt before brewed inside me.
I would make them pay.
I would burn them both to the ground.
With a shaking breath, I wiped my tears away and yanked against the chains.
“Get me a lawyer,” I demanded.
The doctor didn’t even flinch. He simply gathered his things and walked toward the door.
“Wait!” I shouted. “I need to see a lawyer! Now!”
The door shut behind him.
Seconds later, a guard appeared outside the small window on the door. He was a large man, with his arms crossed over his chest, and a cruel smirk on his face.
“A lawyer?” he mocked.
I glared at him. “Yes. I’m being illegally detained, and I demand—”
The guard burst into laughter.
“You still think you’re in police custody?” he sneered.
My stomach dropped.
“What… what do you mean?” I whispered.
The guard leaned closer, his smirk widening. “You’re not in a police station, sweetheart.”
Cold terror flooded my veins.
“Then where am I?”
He chuckled. “You’re in a sale house.”
The words didn’t register at first.
Sale house.
Sale.
Like… an auction?
Like…
Like a slave?
I could hear my heartbeat in my ears as panic began to move quickly through my body.
“You’re lying,” I whispered.
“Am I?” He tilted his head mockingly. “You’re an omega, after all. No one’s gonna care where you end up.”
Omega.
Wait what?!
He said the word like an insult, as if I was nothing.
I gritted my teeth. “You can’t do this.”
“It’s already done.”
My nails dug into my palms.
This wasn’t real.
This wasn’t happening.
I wasn’t an omega. What even is an Omega. I wasn’t some property to be sold.
I was Lena Hart.
And I would destroy every single person who thought they could take away my freedom.
My baby was gone.
My life had been shattered.
But I was still here.
And I would make them all suffer.
Just as I opened my mouth to scream again, the guard straightened.
A new presence filled the room.
A man stepped inside.
Tall.
Broad-shouldered and unsettlingly familiar.
Dark wavy hair, chiseled jaw, piercing golden eyes that seemed to see straight through me.
A striking
resemblance to the first man who had taken me.
But different.
Colder and more ruthless looking
He looked down at me.
Then, in a voice that carried a quiet but undeniable authority, he said—
“I’ll take her.”
